What other insanely stupid things does Palin probably believe?
just because it's fun to make fun of her, she probably thinks, in addition to Africa being a country:

Santa Claus is real and actually lives several hundred miles north of her
401K is a bra size
People in Austria say "G'day mate, let's put another shrimp on the barbie"
"Huhuhuh, you said 'drill'"
The earth is flat
"Moby Dick" is a venerial disease

Here's proof -- and I certainly hope Santa is following the law.

6. Actually, she should be taken seriously.

I think Paul Begala had her nailed last night on Bill Maher. He said she was smart but ignorant. But his main objection to her is that she's mean. He said she could probably overcome her ignorance by hitting the books and studying, but the meaness is something we don't ever want in public office. I had her pegged as a sociopath and liar myself. Paul Begala said it more nicely.

8. I agree she's not a complete dumbass

I mean, she managed to work her way up the political ladder (usually by stepping over other people). So, she's cunning even if she doesn't have book smarts.

But she lacks any subtlely. She's told to buy one or two designer outfits, she then spends $250,000 on a whole new wardrobe for her and her family. She's told by the Mccain campaign they might be bringing up Ayres, but they have to be careful, she goes right out there and accuses Obama of 'palling around with terrorists'. She's told to show off her pro life credentials; then she starts defending abortion clinic bombers.

She's not a stupid woman, but she's a stupid politician.

9. Before you completely dismiss her ability even as a stupid politician,
think of Eva Person, Ismelda Marcos and more recently Katherine Harris. Yes, they all got their comeuppance but not before they bulldozed a lot of what was good in their political venues.

10. Person?
Eva Person? Or do you mean Eva Peron?

(If that's who you mean, please realize that no matter how savvy she was at manipulating public opinion, she was not running for office...especially one where she would be in the position of taking the presidency with the death of her superior.)

13. Something seems to be wrong with the Alaskan elections.
With less than a million people in the state, the irregularities are more obvious. I hope there are investigations.
