Is Paul Krugman on the list for Sec. Treas?
Seems to be a lot of people worried about Larry Summers. How about Krugman?

3. I wonder if he'd at least serve as an economic adviser?

His brilliance when it comes to economic trends would surely be helpful.

5. I'd be surprised if he's offered it...
He's a great economist, but Treasury wouldn't really be something in his specialty.

Volcker would be the best pick, IMO.

6. I like Volcker, too, but it looks like he will remain an adviser to Obama. nt

9. I don't think he would be the best person for the job
Krugman would be better suited for advising economic policy. This is a very serious crisis, and you need some one with some hands on experience with financial policy decisions. There is no time for on the job training.

13. Agree. He probably could do it, but there are many other better options.
