Poll question: Should Obama Campaign Against McCain In The Georgia Senate Run-off?
John McCain is going to campaign for the republican in Georgia senate run-off against the democrat. Should Obama flex his muscles and campaign also?

If he wins, it will make him look all powerful.

If he loses, it will take him down a peg.

What should he do?

1. Obama should campaign...
...and so should all the good people who helped him.

2. Really surprised McCain would
There is exactly one thing Saxby Chambliss is known for nationally, and that's running a piece of shit smear campaign against Max Cleland.

I'm kinda shocked McCain would go jumping in that latrine again so soon. You'd think he'd want to pretend (along with his aides) that the 'smear/fear/racist' campaign was really all the Palin nutjob wing's fault.

That said, President-Elect (WOO!) Obama (YEAH!) should at least send a national request for $ around to help Jim Martin with the runoff costs, maybe send some of the field organizers with a bit more southern experience (like the NC or northern Florida folks) to assist the good Georgians on the ground.

It's possible, at this point, that the presence of the Man Himself might motivate the weenies against him with the ('it's not that we're racists, we just think a divided government works better') argument. The people in place would be in the best position to know if 'Help President Obama get stuff done' works better than 'Saxby Chambliss sucks shit uphill, get rid of him'.

3. He should STAY AWAY.
There is a much better shot of the Republican winning, and this would damage the image of his mandate if he campaigned for the Democrat and he lost.
