Interesting tidbit from Newsweek's Presidential race issue...
I love the Presidential race issues of Time and Newsweek where they embed reporters with campaigns on the promise what they see and hear will not be reported until after the election.

One of the interesting tidbits from the Newsweek one so far (come on, it's long and I'm not finished yet)was that not only was Obama's plan to announce his running mate by text message meant to create publicity, but it was mainly thought up to gather cell phone numbers for later use (contributions, campaign help, polling, et cetera). Very, very ingenious.

2. One tidbit was hilarious:
I don't have the article with me, but McCain's staff told him not to look at Obama during the first debate.

When the debate was over, they told him he looked standoffish and bitter because he never made eye contact, to which McCain replied, "I thought you meant don't look at him at all!"

4. They told him not to look when Obama was on the attack because Obama looks people in the eye

when he goes after them and they were afraid McCain (who they knew has plenty of disdain for Obama) wouldn't react well to that. So he takes that advice and neglects to look at Obama at all during the whole debate. :silly:

5. some maverick he was.
I am so glad McCain lost. I can only imagine what the next for years would be like with McCain expecting stage directions for every move he made.

Seriously, the guy was clueless. If he couldn't look Obama in the eye, I can only imagine how flumoxed he would have been dealing with Putin.

6. I was calling those Numbers Before election day. Our office did over 5000 call to Virginia.

It was beautiful. Everyone was just sitting anywhere they could and calling on cell phones.
