What I believe happened to Freeperville
They realized that the crap they were posting WAS actually inciting violence and threatening the President-Elect, so they stuck their tails between their legs and ran away like the cowardly, arm chair, wanna-be, warriors they actually are.

1. Perhaps they were afraid the Secret Service would have a few questions for them.

20. No, thanks
I'd rather just lurk there occasionally and LMAO. Normally, I don't visit FR much, but 'tis the season for amazingly hilarious batshit crazy rantings there.

I can't wait till Obama's sworn in. They'll really go berserk then!!

21. Cathy, I believe you are on the right track.
Some of the crap being posted in Fweeperville was well over the line. RimJob may have to have his site moderated a little more tightly in the future. As screwloose as FR is, the inmates had gotten just a little "enthusiastic" in the last few days.

and had to be scrubbed. Gee, maybe Agent Mike went to work over there?

9. High-traffic sites can break in interesting ways
A couple years ago the server room that Livejournal and a few other major sites were on caught fire.

Some server issues are a bit difficult to patch. ;)

18. If you spend the money on a decent set up
this doesn't happen.

He takes in a lot of money from those people - he could easily pay for better server(s), and personnel that know what to do in the event of an attack.

Then again Craigslist looks out of date and arcane to me too.

Mark.

Edited on Sun Nov-09-08 12:27 AM by sjdnb
on it's own server. Second, the fact that their Yahoo! Group is also unavailable is even MORE suspicious. How likely is it that both servers would be unavailable at the same time except for some internal 'purging'. Fact is, their members have posted some things that I suspect the owners of the site are very concerned about. And, they may have already been contacted by the ATF or FBI about them.

11. They moved to Paraguay to get things ready for George & Dick.
Well, I *wish* that was true. Can you imagine how pleased George and Uncle Dick would be to have dozens of unwashed morans crowding their carefully planned compound?

But it's probably just a server outage.

... drank some vodka with sleeping pills, wrapped themselves in purple silk (actually polyester™ from Wal-mart), and waited for the spaceship.

Peace unto you, little Freakers.

Oh, and heaven is managed by people of color, queers, 'socialists,' really real Americans and real people from all over Earth. And FDR. And Jesus is still a Jew.

Wouldn't wanna be ya.

29. Whose raping of the Constitution are you referring to.....why are you defending
the Freepers right to threaten and incite voilence against the President elect.

The SS is only doing their job which is to protect those whom they are sworn to protect.

Go home, FR is up and running again.

I didn't think it was a real time site. Meaning that your post had to be read first by the site and then they posted.

35. yep, last week they had to pull the "assassination" post
which I think was a day or 2 after the election here. Somebody here caught it, others called the Secret Service, FBI, and about 4 hours later, gone.
I'd bet the SS & FBI are watching them like hawks now. Thank God!

25. Man, I have been lurking there a bit to bask in their distress, and
I think we need to have a feature devoted to them, like they do with the DUmmie Funnies. There is SO MUCH ripe for the picking there! Just from one thread, here are some duzies!

"President Bush did a fine job, in my view, one of the best we have had in decades."

"Sarah 2012. Piper 2032."

"God bless Sarah Palin! She speaks the truth and is easily the most intelligent conservative in the country." (Well, that one could be true! )

30. The new theme is "Palin/Jindal 2012"
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2129471/posts?page=1

The world just caught wind that Jindal wasn't vetted to be McCain's VP because he was less than impressed with McCain and his campaign and somehow the Freepers think he'll hitch his wagon to PALIN'S half-witted @ss. Do we need further proof that these are a people thoroughly devoid of rational thought and basic comprehension skills??

I never go over that way but just decided to take a quick look. Man...they're really drinking the kool-ade in regards to the Fairness Doctrine. And crying that Bob Barr cost them a couple of states. Sounds pretty pathetic but hey, we've been there so I guess we can cut them a little slack.
