http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2128428/posts

Actual Freeper quote:

“The Ayatollah Hussein IS NOT the President elect yet, and may never be. We will see what the Electors decide mid-December about supporting an illegal alien as President of the US. McCain may yet win.”

Oh dear. The Jim Jones Kool-Aid must be taking effect. Brains slowly leaking out ears. Freeptown 2008.

2. It's the first
they go like this

1. Denial:
* Example - "I feel fine."; "This can't be happening, not to me!"
2. Anger:
* Example - "Why me? It's not fair!" "NO! NO! How can you accept this!"
3. Bargaining:
* Example - "Just let me live to see my children graduate."; "I'll do anything, can't you stretch it out? A few more years."
4. Depression:
* Example - "I'm so sad, why bother with anything?"; "I'm going to die . . . What's the point?"
5. Acceptance:
* Example - "It's going to be OK."; "I can't fight it, I may as well prepare for it."

45. No kidding. Constitution requires pres be a natural born citizen - and there is an argument that
McCain can never be naturally born. As I understand it, the law that made people born in Panama citizens was enacted the year after McCain was born there, and made retroactive to all born there since 1904 (?). So fine, he is a citizen by an act of law.

But not a naturally born one. So while I haven't looked closely at where I think that would end up, it makes me smile to think that there is some argument on that point that could hold water.

46. Blame Philip J. Berg....
Berg is a laywer (and former Clinton supporter) who put a lawsuit together based on claims from PUMAs and Right-Wing sites. Among other claims is that Obama and his mother lost their US citizenship when his mother married Lolo Soetoro and moved to Indonesia. This comes from the writings of one "Judah Benjamin" over on the PUMAblog "TexasDarlin", and is based on a faulty reading of the Nationality Act of 1940, which said marriages done before 1922 would result in the loss of citizenship for expatriated US women.

Berg's lawsuit was dismissed in US district court and in the US court of appeals. It's now waiting to be heard at the Supreme Court, where Justice Souter has given the Obama campaign until 1 Dec to move to dismiss. Simular cut and paste lawsuits in Conneticuit, Washington, and Ohio have also been dismissed.

A good site poking holes on the legal side is http://whatsyourevidence.com/

I post updates at http://www.yestodemocracy.com/

Anti-semite Andy Martin has a suit in Hawaii attempting to demand a "vault copy" of Obama's birth certificate. And there's a movement on the far-right, supported by upset PUMAs, trying to get the electors in the electoral college to demand absolute proof of his hawaiian birth and citizenship before certifying the election. It's a last ditch hail mary play.

10. I try to avoid fighting with the mentally retarded...
Edited on Sun Nov-09-08 02:03 AM by policypunk
but I had it out with a guy about this a few days ago, he claimed that when his step-father took him to Indonesia he lost his US citizenship. I tried explaining to him that a parent can not renounce the citizenship of a US born child on their behalf and even if a US born minor wishes to renounce their citizenship the petition will be rejected unless the consular official is satisfied that the minor wishes to renounce their citizenship without coercion.

Seeing as Obama returned to the United States when he was 10 it seems awfully unlikely that he paid a visit to a US diplomatic mission to say fuck america.

Then he started with the muslim nonsense when his wife told him to shut the fuck up and hauled him away. Seeing as both his father and step-father were pretty much playboys and muslim apostates it seems unlikely he would have been exposed to islam in any tangible form.

http://www.contrariancommentary.com/community/Home/tabid/36/mid/363/newsid363/314/Default.aspx

"MARTIN ASKS INTERNET AUDIENCE TO CONTACT MCCAIN ELECTORS FOR A UNIFIED CHALLENGE TO OBAMA IN THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE."

Andy Martin triggers new opposition to Barack Obama with internet campaign to block approval by the Electoral College

Martin says McCain Electoral College electors should use parliamentary procedure to force release of Obama’s secret birth file

“Who is Barack Obama?” Andy asks

Oh brother.

Freepers won't rest until ... well, until someone informs them that Hawaii is a state.

28. Wow, Andy MArtin has no clue how the electoral college works.
It was a moment that has to be heard be understood,” says the Internet’s most influential political voice, Andy Martin. “I was asked to do a brief guest shot on Lan’s show. But something ‘magic’ happened. In a ‘Network’-style moment, Lan asked his audience to shower us with e-mails; it started pouring. What was supposed to last a few minutes lasted almost four and a half hours of live radio. It wouldn’t stop. The audience kept growing until they finally started collapsing from exhaustion at 1:20 A.M. CST.

“Out of this extraordinary spontaneous combustion I produced the constitutional strategy that McCain electors should ‘jam up’ the electoral college with parliamentary procedures and demands for production of Barack Obama’s original, typewritten 1961 birth certificate (certificate of live birth). The response of the audience was electric.

“Friday morning we are going to start organizing a ‘Goal Line Stand’ in the Electoral College to force Barack Obama to produce his original 1961 birth certificate for review by the American people,” Martin said. “Republicans, conservatives and independents have a new rallying point. Don’t let Obama pass through the Electoral College until he has produced his original birth certificate and ended the mystery shrouding his origins.”

Dude! McCain's electors can't do shit to gum up the works on this. Electors are hand picked by the candidates! At least 364 electors that Obama hand picked will be voting for him!

What a fucking moron this Andy MArtin asshole is. Internet's most influential voice my lily white ass!

31. The other thing they don't seem to understand
The electors never actually have a central meeting. They meet in their state capitals and since its winner takes all its basically either Obama electors or McCain electors showing up at the prospective capital.

So there are no procedures in the voting they could do since they aren't invited to the Obama party to begin with.

This reject should read how the electoral college functions before making plans

47. anti-semite Andy Martin is a piece of work alright...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Martin_(U.S._politician)

"In 1973 the Illinois Supreme Court refused to grant him a license to practice law in the state. It cited several instances of troubling conduct on Martin's part, including an attempt to have a parking violation thrown out because it had been "entered by an insane judge" and his description of an attorney as "shaking and tottering and drooling like an idiot."<10> Martin had been described by state psychiatrists as having a "moderately severe character defect manifested by well-documented ideation with a paranoid flavor and a grandiose character."<11>"

(snip)

"His 1996 run for the Florida State Senate came unraveled when it was revealed that he'd named his campaign committee for his 1986 congressional run "The Anthony R. Martin-Trigona Congressional Campaign to Exterminate Jew Power in America." The revelation led the state Republican Party to renounce him. Just before the election, he assaulted two cameramen from WPTV, the NBC affiliate in West Palm Beach. He was convicted of criminal mischief and sentenced to a year in jail. He was freed pending appeal, but made personal attacks on the judge while on the way out of the courtroom. The judge held Martin in criminal contempt of court and sentenced him to seven months in jail. However, he was mistakenly let out of jail after only a month. Martin never returned, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. If he is ever arrested, he will have to serve 16 months in jail.<9> The warrant was still outstanding at least as of the time of Martin's 2008 Senate run, but he said the issue is being "resolved."<13>"

(snip)

"Martin has been labeled a vexatious litigant by numerous federal and state courts. As early as 1982, Edward Weinfeld, a federal judge for the Southern District of New York, observed that he had a tendency to file "a substantial number of lawsuits of a vexatious, frivolous and scandalous nature."<10>

In 1983, Jose Cabranes, a federal judge for the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut, issued a sweeping injunction barring Martin or anyone acting "at his behest, at his direction or instigation, or in concert with him" from filing any new action or proceeding in any federal or state court without first seeking permission from the court in which he wished to file that action or proceeding.<14> In his ruling, Cabranes noted that Martin had a tendency to file legal actions with "persistence, viciousness, and general disregard for decency and logic." According to Cabranes, Martin's practice was to file "an incessant stream of frivolous or meritless motions, demands, letters to the court and other documents," as well as "vexatious lawsuits" against anyone who dared cross him. On appeal by Martin, the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals limited the scope of the injunction to federal courts, but stated that the federal courts were constitutionally obligated to protect themselves and the administration of justice from vexatious litigants.<15>

Many of these filings were anti-Semitic in nature. In his motion for the 1983 bankruptcy case, he called the judge "a crooked, slimy Jew who has a history of lying and thieving common to members of his race."<1> In another motion that year, Martin stated, "I am able to understand how the Holocaust took place, and with every passing day feel less and less sorry that it did."<1> When later pressed in an interview about his remarks, Martin claimed that the anti-Semitic comments were inserted into his court papers by malicious judges.<1>"

Democratic electors are hand-picked for trustworthiness and party loyalty. This person is saying that maybe, just maybe, 97 out of Obama's 365 electors (almost 27%) are going to not only refuse to vote for Obama, but give their vote to his Republican opponent?

Let's just grant, for the sake of argument, that something unforseen happens and, in the next couple of weeks, Obama is revealed to not be a U.S. citizen. Do you think, even then, that Democratic electors are going to vote for McCain? More likely, they'd simply vote for Biden as president, then either agree beforehand on who should be his vice-president, or tell everyone to vote for a Democrat of their choice, so that nobody reaches 270 EV, and the Democratic-controlled Senate chooses a new V.P.

No, delusional Freepers, even if something were to happen to disqualify Obama, neither McCain nor any other Republican will become president on January 20, 2009. Let me put it simply, so you can understand: It's. Not. Gonna. Happen.

43. These idiots truly don't understand the degree of the American rejection of them
and their kind. They need to come out of their basements and get a clue as to what the majority of the electorate has mandated. Obama's 53% win is the highest for a Democrat since Johnson's 1964 blowout of Goldwater, and in that case, Johnson was an incumbent. And given the amazing closeness of several states (Arizona, Montana, North Dakota) which had potential to go for Obama had more time been available, and the still-questionable outcome of Missouri, the mandate stretches even further. Only 2 states, Alaska and Oklahoma, had no counties with a majority nod to Obama.

I'm amazed that their site managed to come back online. I thought it would be dead for good!
