Rahm Emanuel's Plan
Anyone notice Rahm Emanuel's plan for the United States sounds a lot like President elect Obama's? Wonder which came first?

1. A New Social Contract: What You Can Do for Your Country and What Your Country Can Do for You *** Universal Citizen Service *** Universal College Access *** Universal Retirement Savings *** Universal Children's Health Care

2. Fiscal Responsibility and Ending Corporate Welfare *** The new social contract depends on ending corporate welfare

3. Tax Reform to Help Those Who Aren't Wealthy Build Wealth *** An effective income tax rate of 10% for those earning under $100,000 *** Four Superincentives: +++ a $3,000 refundable college tax credit +++ a universal mortgage deduction +++ a simplified family credit for families with children +++ a universal pension

4. A New Strategy To Win The War on Terror *** Reform and strengthen multilateral institutions *** Add to the Special Forces and Marines *** Expand the Army by 100,000 more troops *** Give all our troops a new G.I. Bill *** Create a new Domestic Counterterrorism Force like Britain's M15

5. A Hybrid Economy That Cuts America's Gasoline Use in Half *** Cut our use of gasoline in half over the next decade *** Accelerate energy research and embrace the plug- in hybrid technology *** End our dependence on use of Middle Eastern oil

1. My assumption is that Rahm, as well as everyone else who will be
tapped by Barack, understand & agree to promote the Plans of THEIR BOSS! Do you remember when Joe Biden was asked if he wanted to be VP, and he said "I'm not seeking that job. I'm very happy being a Senator. I've never really ever had a boss tell me what to do other than the people of Delaware, and I'm not so sure I could do that?" Of course he was only saying what everyone always says when asked about being VP, but up front, he publically recognized that Barack would be HIS BOSS! His JOB would be to promote what that boss wanted! I'm positive Rahm knows that too. HIS JOB is to get Obama's Plan implemented.

2. Rahm's... Bill Clinton's... DLC's
Edited on Sun Nov-09-08 06:56 AM by wyldwolf
you realize this book was written before Obama ever announded his candidacy... I was sent this book in Sept. of 2006... and you realize these are ALL DLC plans modified just a tad? And you realize Bill Clinton was on these in some from in the 90s?

Hey, I'm glad - giddy - Obama won, but let's stick to reality, OK?

3. Unuversal healthcare, college access, and government secured retirement plans are DLC?

A hybrid economy? An end to corporate welfare? Sounds pretty socialist to me.

Maybe I need to look into this "DLC"? I thought they were supposed to be evil corporatists?

I'm confused/
