How long should you keep your Obama sign up?
At what point does it become rubbing it in to your McCain Neighbors?

1. My vote would be as long as you are OK with it. You are proud like I am that
he is our new President.

40. I took mine down on Friday
only becuase I live in a very Republican area, and I was afraid to have them stolen. Trust me, they are going to be resurrected for a 2012 appearance.

My stickers will remain on the car though. I had an election day message on the back of the car written in soap, but that came off as it rained this week.

44. Yeah, don't blame you. Sounds like it had hit your comfort level. For me I usually
go ahead and take them down along with the bumper sticker after we win or lose. I just like to move on.

2. I took all my signs down the other day.
My neighbors' are still up.

My dad had all 4 of his signs stolen right after the election so I gave him my "Obama '08."

I see it as savoring the moment, the signs will come down soon enough.

4. I removed my yard sign the morning
after the election in respect for my majority Republican neighbors. I also took off my bumper sticker and cut out the small Obama logo and put it back on my bumper to stay there for eternity.

24. Righto, Mark

mine stays on until it rots. I pulled up beside a car with a McCain/Palin sticker at a stoplight yesterday. I smiled my evil grin and gave a thumbs up just before changing lanes to get in front of him. His face in the rear view mirror was priceless.

6. As much as I want to rub it in, I don't want to be seen as the
04 bu$h supporters who still today can be seen with W-04 stickers.

I do still have my Obama Biden bumper stickers on my car. I will eventually take them off as well.

12. I was going to leave mine up through Inauguration Day. Unfortunately it vanished on Thursday.
However, I don't think it necessarily fell victim to a bitter McCain supporter. It's also possible that someone took it as a souvenir. My car magnet is staying on indefinitely.

13. I took my yard sign down but kept my bumper sticker on.
I tape bumper stickers to the inside back window of my truck. Obama-Biden is top center.

After the election, I taped the following two stickers along the bottom of the window:

Bush - Worst President Ever
1/20/09 - End of an Error

They will stay there until 1/21/09, at which, I think I will do what a poster above said & trim my O-B sticker to just the Obama sunrise & keep it on.

You are kind to consider your neighbors feelings.

My yard sign is still up, although I might take it down when the rest of the neighborhood takes theirs down.

I took the ugly MoveOn Obama/Biden sticker off the car, but I'll leave the cool official Obama/Biden magnet on until someone swipes it.

nobody's taken them down yet, but I think I'll bring mine in tonight.

I noticed the house that's always got the most republican signs took their McCain signs down immediately. There are still a few McCain signs around but the house that's the worst took theirs down the night of the election.

Edited on Sun Nov-09-08 10:57 AM by eagertolearn
is my plan and also you can put your yard signs in your window forever! Or if you have a window sign. Also you can encourage your friends to save the yard signs for 2012 and I had a bunch of people drop their wires off at my house so they wouldn't end up in the dump. Next time I'll just order a bunch of the plastic slip covers (should be cheaper than paying for those wires to be shipped again).

36. One of my neighbors still have their McCain-Palin sign up.

I sigh every time I walk by their house. They also park their SUV outside with their McCain-Palin sticker even though they can park it inside.
Fortunately, they live a block away so I do not have to see any of it when I look outside my house.

37. Most Mccain/Palin signs down before the crack of dawn 11/05 except
our dee-dee-dee neighbors across the street from us.

When their sign goes down, so will ours. In the meantime, I had great joy adding something we've been missing for 8 years.

Edited on Sun Nov-09-08 11:16 AM by zulchzulu
I've had mine on my front lawn since last December. It made it through 100 inches of snow and all of the primary and presidential season. I'll take it down when I get back from DC after being at the Inauguration.

My Obama bumper sticker will stay on until it starts to fade out...
