Obama must move quickly on all fronts
Obama has a historic opportunity to reinvigorate liberalism and strengthen our nation in the same way that people like Roosevelt and Kennedy did. Right now, people are crying out for change, and desperately want the economy fixed at least in a way to ensure them some protection from the economic crisis. By acting on multiple fronts at once he will divide the right wing, given that some of them have priorities related to social issues, while others have priorities related to taxes or terrorism.

Under cover of the economic crisis and with a powerful Democratic majority in Congress, Obama will have the opportunity to implement national health care; reinstitute a progressive tax structure; provide jobs by giving greater funding to social services, specific industrial sector, infrastructure projects, and the NEA; improve the laws to make unions strong again; and promote civil rights. Obama must seize this opportunity.

If he delays too long, the right wing will have an opportunity to regroup, the economy might recover to the point that people are more resistant to change, and the Democrats might lose their commanding lead in Congress.

Obama must act quickly. The window of opportunity will not stay open long.

2. I think this is inherently obvious
Not to criticize, but I think this is normal operating procedure when taking office from the opposition - especially in bad economic times.

I'm extremely confident that President Obama is up to the task.
