Will President Obama offer Dr. Dean something ? |
|
I think he deserves it. unless it is possible for him to keep the DNC chairmanship, to keep up the good work

3. Howard has said, oh, about a 100 times, that he's leaving the DNC |
|
in January. In fact, he's said from the very beginning of his term he would not stay- particularly in a DNC that is simply an arm of a dem WH.

2. He's done with the DNC- not even a tiny bit interested in staying on. |
|
He wants HHS but so does Tom Daschle and Daschle is probably closer to Obama than Dean. Dean, however, is far better qualified.

I really don't understand the need some people feel to start playing musical chairs with cabinet posts. Let's not decimate the Senate and take key people away from posts in the Democratic Party where they have been highly effective. In some cases, yeah, it makes sense. But Howard Dean is in the best spot to continue his work. 2010 is going to be another big year with even more gains possible for Democrats. Now is not the time to remove Dean and stick him in the cabinet somewhere.
Edit: Well, if he's going to leave, then yes, put him in the cabinet :P

HHS would be a good spot for him. Daschle can be his assistant. Or plumber. :D

Howard Dean with either be known as, 'Health and Human Services Secretary Dean' or 'Dr. Surgeon General Dean'. I kind of like the latter. :)

15. Honestly, I don't think he'll get the former |

and I doubt he'd take the latter.

18. Dr Dean would do great at HHS or anywhere else the President appoints him |
|
I'm far more concerned with how the DNC would do without him. If someone else takes over, they have to continue what he started.
