Barack, go all in with executive orders. Don't piecmeal it. |
|
Part of the reason that Bush was so effective in dismantling most of the progressive regulations adopted since FDR was his relentless and constant use of executive orders. That's one page Barack should take from the GOP play book. Countless times over the past 8 years, I had not stopped seething about one atrocious, crony-capitalist, bible-thumping executive order when two more were announced. This was clearly a tactic to keep us on our heels and make it difficult to marshal opposition to any singular events. The rollback of Bush executive policies should not be characterized as leaning too far left but explained as returning sanity to the Executive Branch.

1. We shouldn't set the precedent for more executive orders |

The president already has enough power as it is

2. He should goall out undoing everything Bush did. BUT... |
|
...then he should stop. Cold. And tell Congress to pass legislation placing restrictions on the use of those damn signing statements.
Otherwise it's only going to bite us in the ass again the next time some short sighted ideologically blinded idiot gets himself elected.

First undo what the fascists did then make it impossible for them to repeat it. It's shocking what they were able to get away with but at least now we know where the holes are and we can (and must) fill them.
