So Chuck T. thinks Palin didn't say/do those things?
Edited on Mon Nov-10-08 08:29 AM by UnrepentantUnitarian
Said that nobody believes she actually thought Africa was a country, etc. Chucky boy, who's the naive one now? Is it such a reach to think a person who didn't know the duties of the VP wouldn't know world geography? That, dear boy, wasn't something "the internet" made up. I could go on...but you get the picture. Chuck, I think you need some time away...maybe a vacation to reality.

4. No, it was explained by a Repub yesterday.
Edited on Mon Nov-10-08 08:31 AM by godai
Palin was in debate prep and she stated....well, there's countries like Africa where etc. etc. etc. It was kind of a slip of the tongue but also an indication of her lack of knowledge and experience.

10. No.
embedded reporters behind the scene saw it and stand by their reports. I believe they were from Newsweek - or it may have been Time.

3. This morning is full of revelations! Joe actually called himself a Republican, too
Funny, up until now, every time he bashes Obama or the Democrats, he's claimed to be "independent" or Libertarian. Today, though, he flat-out called himself "a Republican."

Gosh, go figure! Chucky-T is, too, I'd bet.

It's a good test.

5. She's the only thing keeping the counter product alive at this point
Does anyone really want to see or hear Mitch McConnell at length on their morning TV?

It's like pro-wrestling, you have to have a counter to the goodguy or badguy depending on how you look at it

7. Funny you should mention pro wrestling!
Since the election I've been thinking about how the very states in which McCain did the best are also the states in which pro wrestling are most popular. Now there's a psychology study for us!

8. the problem is....that it's not that hard to believe that she DID think that......
Edited on Mon Nov-10-08 09:02 AM by ErinBerin84
Well, Chuck was right on his feeling a couple of weeks ago that there was a tenseness between McCain and Palin, that he had to do the weak ass "mea culpa, everything's awesome!" post on his first read blog. I do think that the media wants her to get the senate seat, just for the drama of it all.

9. somewhere there is a debate prep video
and that is why Palin didn't deny this OUTRIGHT. She's been threatened with it or she knows it is out there. Otherwise we'd have been treated to a whole new round of "I'm glad to be found innocent there of any wroong knowing on the part of Africa also, and again, renewing jobs as a a maverick and countries are continents if you're not bein too picky there, also."

Palin Aides: Release the video now:-)

11. She HERSELF said "That was taken out of context!"
When she was deriding all the mean staffers blowing the whistle on her. So SHE admitted it.

12. But it probably was taken out of context
Just because Palin lies a lot, doesn't mean she's lying about this. Anyway, the damage from the smear has already been done. This is like all the lies about Gore. People will remember this and not care that she almost certainly does know that Africa isn't a country and merely misspoke.

14. In exactly what context could someone be discussing the country of Africa & it would not be moranic?
just wondering. A slip of the tongue I understand, but apparently no one took it as a slip of the tongue. Plus, didn't she go on to say something about South Africa that re-confirmed the impression?

15. She was talking about South Africa
and apartheid and she most certainly did not know that it was a separate country, one of many on the continent of Africa. Since she didn't know what countries made up North America or NAFTA, it's certainly feasible to believe she didn't understand that Africa is a continent.

16. The truth is likely worse ...

... she probably was under the impression that since there was a "South Africa" that the rest of the continent was a country just called "Africa".
