Kristol backs away from his babe

After spending half his NYT column today on the Obama dog issue (which should tell you enough that Kristol really, really doesn't want to post-mortem the campaign and take a serious look at his immensely boneheaded handpicking of Palin), he gets to the final paragraph and barely acknowledges the Alaska governor's existence. In it, he admonishes her as well as two other GOP governors who are possible presidential candidates in 2012 (Mitch Daniels and Bobby Jindal) to get dogs. By giving her no more props than the other two guvs, Kristol has officially begun the backtracking but without having to say so explicitly.

He is no more insightful than Dick Morris. A pity that his contract with the Times probably has a no-firing clause.
