55. I'd rather Matt would ask her
how come she acted one way in Alaska as governor for two years, and then turned around and acted completely opposite when she got nominated for VP. He might ask her how come she thought Obama was cool in August, but accused him of pallin' around with terrorists in October. He might ask her how it feels to have two faces.

I just hope she does not kill off her 2012 campaign before she has a chance consolidate Republican support behind her. We need her to remain strong so that the Repub Party will remain fractured and weak .... leading to stronger Democratic Party results!

39. True but they didn't get the nomination the second time
Some wanted Al Gore to run earlier on. But then he didn't seek the nomination. He might have gotten it, though.

I'm thinking generally they can run over and over again, but once they get the nom, they have to win or they don't tend to get it again. Not impossible though.

But after Phailin's run this time and everything that is bound to come up in the future about her, she seems likely to be more of a liability than anything else.

43. I hope the pubs are foolish enough
to nominate her. If the conservatives coalesce around her, she'd get the nod. The only reason McCain got it was because the conservatives were fractured between Romney, Thompson, Huckabee, etc. They split the vote and the "moderate" got the nod. I don't see them making that mistake again. First, I can't think of one republican that would be her VP; second, she'd screw up so many times in the course of the nomination/election process, it would provide endless entertainment. It would keep the comedians busy for years.

36. So Nixon is the only one who came back to win
Which was back in 1968.

Phailin is such an idiot that it's hard to imagine her at the top of the ticket. Getting the nomination is beyond her. IMO her only chance at ever being Prez was where she was handed the VP slot and McCrypt passes on during his term. Otherwise, she'd have to fight her way up by the primaries. She's just too dumb to survive that and come out on top.

4. "Well, let's see. There's ― of course in the great history of America there have been rulings that there's never going to be absolute consensus by every American, and there are those issues, again, like Roe v. Wade, where I believe are best held on a state level and addressed there. So, you know, going through the history of America, there would be others but ―" --Sarah Palin, unable to name a Supreme Court decision she disagreed with other than Roe vs. Wade, interview with Katie Couric, CBS News, Oct. 1, 2008

9. "If convince enough voters that that is negative campaigning, for me to call Barack Obama out on his associations then I don't know what the future of our country would be in terms of First Amendment rights and our ability to ask questions without fear of attacks by the mainstream media." --Sarah Palin, getting First Amendment rights backwards while suggesting that criticism of her is unconstitutional, radio interview with WMAL-AM, Oct. 31, 2008

Sarah Palin now owns this group. They don't care how badly she fucks up the interviews - it just shows how much she's just like them goshdarnit.

Sarah Palin's numbers are sky-high amongst Rethugs. Fully 64% would support her as the candidate in 2012.

64%.

Never misunderestimate the stupidity of the average Rethug voter. And if the media presents her as their darling - well, then we're really up shit creek.

She, and the 64% of Rethugs who would support her in a 2012 campaign, are already campaigning for the next time.

Make no mistake, she is already running.

It is in our best interests to have this woman brought down like a cheetah taking down a baby gazelle. Quickly and mercilessly. She's dangerous. Her hard core base - fully 27% plus or minus LOVE her. The networks know and understand this, and they will pander to anything that brings in viewers.

We're going to see a lot of Sarah Palin unless the AK political parties and journalists do their jobs and take her down for her corruption, lying and ethics violations.

44. VERY TRUE... but she's also only 44 years old.
She could vanish for 20 years... and return at age 64. See my point?

I'm sure she's had several GOP advisers point out that she's not viable in the next 4 or perhaps even 8 years, but should think more long-term. If she's humble and smart (lol), she'd be looking at 2020 and simply try to stay relevant until then. That assumes she can maintain credibility in Alaska and build up a real resume (unlike the bogus that is her current list of achievements).

I personally hope she does run again in 2012, in the primaries, because she would truly end her rise to power in doing so.
