"No president has ever had the support of such a powerful grassroots movement"

2008 Victory T-shirt

By Obama for America - Nov 10th, 2008 at 12:55 pm EST

In the months and years ahead, we're going to accomplish amazing things together. No president has ever had the support of such a powerful grassroots movement, and Barack and Joe will need you to continue fighting alongside them.

But before we take the next step, we need to get our house in order.

The Democratic National Committee poured all of its resources into building our successful 50-state field program. And they played a crucial role in helping Barack win in unlikely states like North Carolina and Indiana. We even picked up an electoral vote in Nebraska.

The DNC took on considerable debt to make this happen.

Will you make a donation of $30 or more now to help the DNC pay for these efforts? You'll get a 2008 Victory T-shirt.

This is why Howard Dean rocks and Terry McAuliffe sucks.

4. Here's a perfect example of how awful he was a DNC chair.
Edited on Mon Nov-10-08 04:49 PM by ProSense
But the chairman of the Hillary Clinton campaign insists Florida is a top priority for the Democratic front-runner, and it's rather personal for the Clintons. Bill Clinton to this day is peeved he didn't carry the Sunshine State in 1992 (he did in '96) and that he didn't spend the final stretch of the campaign in Florida.

"If you listen to him, instead of going to North Carolina the last trip before 1992, he would've won here," former Democratic National Committee chairman Terry McAuliffe says in a Political Connections interview airing today on Bay News 9. "I talked to him the other day about it. It still burns him that he didn't carry Florida in 1992. ... (Sen. Clinton's) got two very important advisers - one Bill Clinton and the other me - who both today believe Florida is a state we can win."

McAuliffe, who took heat for pumping so much national money behind Bill McBride's lopsided loss to Jeb Bush in 2002, said Kerry wasted months before setting up a coordinated campaign operation in Florida in 2004.

"I came down campaigning several times and knew we were in trouble. There was tremendous disorganization. That's not going to happen with Hillary Clinton."

So he spent a ton of the DNC's money on a loss to Bush, obviously clueless to the need for an infrastructure (or the problem with the 2000 election), then turns around and ignores said infrastructure in 2004. Now McAwful wants to blame Kerry for not doing the DNC chair's job?

He's completely clueless that it's not about the money only, it's about the infrastructure. That's the job of a DNC chair.

On edit: apt description of McAwful, Daddy Warbucks.

3. FDR did.
And that's how he was able to accomplish so much, despite the right-wing Supreme Court obstructing progress at every turn.

8. My email also said $100, but when I clicked on "Donate now," (No, I wasn't going to, but
I was curious), it said the t-shirts were $30, although they'd take a higher amount, of course! Kind of a misleading e-mail!

10. Obama created that grassroots organization, and it was obvious
that he and Dean were on the same page.
