The Obamas at the White House (photos)

Michelle's dress is KILLER. Dubya is a little man, also.

1. OMG, the 2nd to last with Obama putting his hand on the President's back
is the zowie one. Obama knows how to use physical contact to his advantage and to let people know who is boss.

I think this is the first time I've ever called George Jr. "The President", but somehow it seems appropriate. Obama is letting the most powerful man in the world know that his time is done.

Wow.

David

2. That's the pic that struck me too. Bush seemed so small there.
Obama intimidates him, I think.

7. It's a power move, for sure. And he's doing it with a smile.
George is just bewildered. You can hear his teeny weeny little mind whining: "But, but, I'm smart? Why'd he win? People like me, too?"

16. Like the famous pic around here, it's like he's letting Bush know
"It's ok, I got this."
:D

11. Now THAT'S a great dress!
She does look wonderful. :)

Btw, WaPo predicts that the social scene in D.C. will pick up because of the Obamas. I can imagine that would be true - they're younger, more active, and everyone's so excited about them.

The end of the stodgy era!

5. Dear Laura, is that how you want us to remember you? Like Queen Elizabeth?
That puts frumpy at a new low. Damn. Brown, drab, shapeless, no lines, no detail. Crap. She looks like Babbs.

Brown is just bad on her. That neckline is like 18th century nunnery, if you're the laundry girl, just in from the orphanage.

12. Actually, I think she wore brown so that the photos would
show her dress picking up Michelle Obama's skin tone. I think it was a kind of nod to the skin color of the new residents. Not bad, Mrs. Bush.

13. looking back over these pictures, I've noticed something: Chiimpy NEVER looks comfortable in a suit
when he can afford 4,000 dollar suits, the tailor can surely fix that. It must be his physique that is broken.

:)

14. Love it...Our long national nightmare is fading
Though we'll be facing trauma of it for quite sometime.

I have to note, Laura won a lot of respect from me after she defending Michelle comment about being "proud". That was really classy on her part.

Michelle and Barack look awesome. They have an amazing sense of style and grace. Bushy looks as confused as always.

Great photos! Barack and Michelle look marvelous.

Bush must be wearing elevator shoes. He looks nearly the same height as Barack in some of the photos. What a sad little man.

On edit: I just noticed that the third photo shows him as being quite a bit shorter. WTF?

Also wanted to add that Michelle is one classy woman. She looks lovely in that dress.
