Are you sick and tired of the media kissing Palins ASS!!
Jesus Christ this is over kill Larry King has her on his show almost every week and has her on again tomorrow. Matt Lauer has an interview and the press keeps on talking about her for 2012. Obama hasn't even been sworn in yet and the media is talking Palin in 2012.But yet the rethugs keep talking about the LIBERAL MEDIA!!!!.

1. I think they are using her
She's such a loose cannon they all want to be the one who captures her on film when she fucks up. They are using her and she's so clueless she can't see it. Your 15 minutes are up, honey. Go home.

4. The exchange in the kitchen with little piper.....
lauer: did you miss a lot of school?
piper: yeah a whole lot
lauer" are you having a hard time catching up?
piper: yeah, it's really hard
lauer: did you miss your friends?
piper: yes, I missed my friends alot.
lauer: what did you like least about campaigning?
piper: the rallies
Lauer: why, because they were long and boring?
piper: yes (smiles)
lauer: would you like to do it again?
piper: silence

Palin then interjects: tell him "sister"...

This is all from memory, but pretty close since it's fresh from this am. I felt sorry for the little girl, I really did.

2. She's overdoing it
Most Americans are more likely to think, "go back to work, Sarah," then to be charmed.

3. Relax. It's not media, it's entertainment. There is no news media anymore.
They know she gets ratings and will keep with her as long as she has interest from the public. Fundies have found the coming of the lord and everyone else likes a good train wreck.

5. The Sarah Show is the best ratings-grabber they have. It's just another reality freak show.

7. It just floors me when the media lets her get away with the....
"I didn't have time to give interviews to set the record straight and let the american people know more about me and my policies" meme. BULLSHIT

Why don't they reply with "Well, you had time to go on SNL and Fox, don't you think you should have set aside some time for Meet the Press or Face the Nation to reach the audiences in the type of venues that would be the perfect place to set the record straight or discuss policy?

8. I am. I don't even think that Edwards got the same publicity after Kerry Lost.
Edited on Tue Nov-11-08 12:06 PM by political_Dem
The other thing that bothers me is that the pundits, anchors and reporters all of a sudden developed "the authority" to tell Obama what to do with his Administration. In all my years, I have never heard of the MSM so brazenly giving advice to any of the former President-Elects. Do they think that Obama can't decide things on his own?

Sarah? That's another story.

10. Would interviews with Edwards gotten the same attention?
Edwards was better known than Palin when he was picked and he was better known afterwards. He had run for president and had been in the public eye for some time. Palin was unknown to virtually anyone until around 60 days ago, so the public's curiousity about her -- fueled by her own wackiness and the wardrobe and other such stories -- makes her a far more compelling subject for an interview than Edwards would have been after the 2004 election.

Think about it.

11. I have. And if the MSM had any decency and respect, they'd drop her like a hot potato.
Edited on Tue Nov-11-08 11:54 AM by political_Dem
Or they'd investigate her secessionist ties and really expose her for what she is.

But they don't. And it's show business as usual in a corporate-owned world.

13. it was the MSM thatbasically turned her into a national joke
Starting with Charlie Gibson and Katie Couric's interviews and continuing through the MSM's reporting of wardrobe-gate and even after the election through interviews/stories about infighting. THe more exposure she gets the bigger joke she appears to be.

15. I don't recall any laughing when the MSM started promoting Palin for 2012.
Edited on Tue Nov-11-08 12:07 PM by political_Dem
I also didn't recall any humor as they practically follow her at the GOP Governor's conference.

Hyping Palin for a federal office is not a joke--especially when there are pundits speculating about what might be done if Steven wins the ballot count in Alaska.

16. She's hyping herself. And I'm all in favor it.
Good grief, she's the gift that keeps giving. I hope like hell she's encouraged to make a run for it in 2012 -- let her, Romney, Huckabee and god knows who else beat the holy shit out of each other and split the repubs even further. Couldn't hope for anything better.

17. Okay. We can agree to disagree.
Edited on Tue Nov-11-08 12:32 PM by political_Dem
But any attempt to mainstream her extremist views is wrong. It is disgusting that they're trying to soften her image.

I just think it is terrible to treat her as a media darling, especially with the knowledge that her speeches on the campaign trail could actually lead to harm against the President-Elect, people of color and any of his supporters. To give her any sort of platform would be criminal negligence.

She's the gift that keeps on giving, alright. :sarcasm:

nor did the Obama campaign, as far as I know!

9. so don't watch.
They're running interviews with her because people are watching. Including a lot of DUers, based on the threads reacting to her interviews.

Plus, there is a vacuum to be filled. I'm quite sure if Obama or Biden or their spouses wanted to give an interview, any and every network would kick Palin to the curb in an instant to make room for such. But they aren't giving interviews during this transitional period, so there is a vacuum.

19. They want a female Bush in 2012. It won't work. She may be likeable in that
small time country girl kind of way but I think after Obama's first term no one will want to see the likes of another Dumbass in the white house after looking at Obama as a smart, capable leader. Someone like Bush comes along once in a great while. It may not happen again for another two, three, four generations.
