NBC political director (and election 2008 standout) Chuck Todd is now writing on a book with pollster Sheldon Gawiser called "How Obama Won," a state-by-state breakdown of the electoral victory.

The Observer reports that the paperback will be published through Knopf's Vintage imprint just before Inauguration Day.

Likely more wonky, Todd's book sounds quite different from "Renegade," the Obama campaign narrative being written by Newsweek's Richard Wolffe. That book's slated for a June 2009 release.

I wonder if the book would have been called "McCain won...how?" if McCain/Palin won. I read earlier this year that Ryan Lizza is writing a book on the campaign too. I wonder if they mean "now working on a book" instead of "now writing on a book"...
