We have long had to wince at the use of terms like Limo liberal and Latte Liberal; so do we now have the counter punch handed to us by McCain himself? Will accusing stuffy stuck up repubs of being cocktail conservatives stick?
It is high time that Krauthammer, Barnes , et al be painted with the intelligentsia moniker and treated with mistrust.

4. We have dozens of demeaning terms for Liberals/Democrats |

We deserve more than one for them.
I think it wouldn't be such a great idea to call Krauthammer a Country Club conservative.

2. Counterpoint: Liberals think intelligence and education are actually good things. |
|
So, it makes no sense for liberals to slag conservative "intellectuals" as such.

5. We applaud Intelligence |
|
but not arrogance and conceit. Think of Krauthammer sticking his nose up in the air every time his mouth opens. That is what I mean by cocktail conservative.

I really like cocktails. Must we so cheapen them be associating them with people like Krauthammer?

6. Conservative intellectual is rapidly becoming an oxymoron |
|
Yes, there was a time when there were conservatives who could truly wear the title. But Buckley and Will et. al., have given way to the likes of Jonah Goldberg, Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter, and Maggie Gallagher. Basically, phonies who dress up horrible policies behind polysyllabic words. They wrap themselves in populism when it's convenient and then laugh at the silly rubes who lap it up at their cocktail parties. They are hypocrites and none of them is capable of an original thought.

9. Country Club First -- that was their motto |
|
And when Karl Rove talked about elitists with their cocktails standing at the side of the room making sarcastic comments about the other party guests-- he was talking about himself and his buddies like Steve Schmidt, Nicole Wallace and Tucker Bounds-- to name but a few.
