With the election behind us, does Buxh seem more relaxed and likable? |
|
Is it just me, because I just watched him at the Intrepid ceremony, and I didn't flip the TV off even once.
I felt he was personable and pleasant as he joked his way through the rite, even acknowledging the presence of Democrats Clinton and Rangle (something he seldom did in the past).
I don't know who's relieved more that he's leaving, me or him, but somehow I think we're seeing in public the side of Buxh many have described of a man who in private, can be delightful and engaging.
Once again... it may just be my own anticipation of change and he may still be viewed as the bumbling, fumbling creep by everyone else, but especially after watching Darth Cheney place the wreath today at Arlington, I didn't mind watching Buxh in New York.
Has anyone else noticed a difference in the last week, or is it just in my head?

3. Bush is still a disgusting excuse for a human being. |
|
Do not forget what he has done these past 8 years.
Shredded the Constitution, spied on us, lied to us, started a war without cause, outed a CIA agent, etc.
I don't care if he's more relaxed or not. I want to see his sorry ass brought up on charges for the crimes he's committed. No exceptions, the buck stops with Bush. He must not be allowed to set a new precedent for executive power.
And yes, I do believe Obama will be the guy who brings justice to Bush.

7. Yeah... I didn't mean to sound overboard for the guy |
|
His legacy has to live on in our memeories and deeds, and Herbert Hoover will owe him a debt of gratitude, but I feel he's seemed more human the last week.
It must just be my own perception and relief at the end of eight long miserable years. I'll probably recant when we see his pardon list.

12. I think there is something to your observation. |
|
I think, though, that it's mostly fueled by something less pleasant. I think Bush is a very broken man right now. He knows his Presidency has been a colossal failure. He knows that his reputation will be forever stained. He knows that he has caused his party to become a joke and a mockery. After eight years of doing this, it's completely wasted him and he simply doesn't care about keeping up appearances anymore.
And I wouldn't doubt that he's drinking again. Heavily.

He'll soon fade off into the sunset to hang his rusty spurs at the Double 'R' Retirement Ranch, and if I understand family history, seldom to be heard from again. Kinda like when Nixon left, but with a lower approval rating.

I don't believe we've interacted before so I rather doubt you are. He gets no pardon from me, ever.

It's been a tour d'force for Bush. He couldn't drain the Treasury via Social Security "reform" so they concocted the "bailout." On the way out the door, he gets to break up the United Auto Workers union. His corporate buddies couldn't be happier. And so he's pretty stoked, too.
