Operation "Red Implosion" : Cheney’s fatherly love
Here is how I like have decided to reconcile the last eight years.

Dick Cheney’s second daughter Mary is a lesbian. He loves her and wants nothing but the best for her. The problem is that he knows that his own country does not agree. As a loving father, he is then left with two options.

1) Become an advocate for gay and lesbian rights;
2) Destroy his own party from within.

The problem with the first option is that many others are doing just that, and his daughter is still not treated as equal under the law. He knows that this option will leave him on his death bed, wondering what is in store for his daughter’s future.

He therefore attempts option 2. He needs an ally who could be trusted – Rove has not come out of the closet yet, so he is perfect and signs on immediately. The plan is to make the Republican Party so despicable that the people will revolt against everything they advocate. Code name "Red Implosion"

The conversation, circa March, 2001:
Cheney: If we are going to get the country to go liberal, we have to convince them that everything that the right wing stands for is wrong and results in failure.
Rove: We should probably butcher the constitution to get them to hate us even more:
Cheney: I’m on it already.
Rove: Is Bush in on Red Implosion?
Cheney: He is our most important operative and doesn’t even know it.
Rove: I’m so excited. By the time we are done with the Republicans, America will be ready for a black President
Cheney: Let’s not get carried away.
Rove: You know we will be the most hated people in America.
Cheney: Every important cause must have martyrs....and I’ll always love you.
Rove: Really…..You love me.
Cheney: Not like that. We've got a lot of work to do. Bush is going to lay the groundwork for why we need to have smart people in power. We need to start immediately working on finding the craziest, least intellectual Church-nut to be the final nail in the coffin. She needs to be stupid enough to drive that message home, and cause permanent change in America.
Rove: There is a mayor in Wasilla, AK that I'm keeping my eye on.

2. It just seems
That a fuckup on the scale of what we saw from this administration would have to be part a bigger plan....wouldn't it? Can people that America elected really be this bad without trying?

5. Please call me mister 119 posts
And it is meant in jest. It is backwards ideology and ideas that have killed it. The progressive platform is what most of us, including myself want.

as my two year old says, relax.

6. Or it could be he's just a greedy soulless bastard that doesn't ...
give a damn about about the country, the troops, his daughter, his party or anybody else. So he implements a semi-secret plan code named "Ka-Ching". Whereby he makes millions through his Halliburton stock and squirrels away untold billions in missing cash that he diverted from government contracts.
