Meredith Vieira finds Sarah Palin "incredibly candid" and Matt Lauer couldn't be more of a
butt kisser with the way he phrases the questions he lobs to her.

Palin cannot concoct a sentence without the words "also," "perhaps" and "too."
She says of McCain, "I have nothing but honor for him," and that she wanted to introduce his concession speech
so she could "brag him up."
She says she "never saw $150,000.00 worth of clothes," that one third of them were returned immediately, one-third of them
"did follow her around the trail" and the last third "never left the belly of the plane."
She says those clothes were "just borrowed from the RNC," so evidently the RNC has gone into retail clothing sales, like Macy's.

I dunno, Sarah. Perhaps Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieira certainly are just tokkin' garbage to counter all those elite jernalists there who
didn't like, perhaps, the way you also were wantin' to progress the nation, too. How can those others there, those cowards and jerks,
say those there things about'cha when they perhaps, too, haven't possibly even ben to Alaska and seen the inventory goin' on in yer livin' room,
complyin' all over the place with what's certainly expected of ya!!

Oh, and by the way - isn't that shiny black suit jacket you're wearin' while yer fixin' up those moose burgers one of them there
fancy designer pieces of apparel that you didn't want, never owned and never left the belly of the goddamned plane?!

Gimme, please, a break.

8. Exactly! So calling her "incredibly candid" just blew my mind. Can a pathological liar
be "incredibly candid"? I mean, doesn't the truth have to factor in there, somehow?

And the way Matt Lauer asked her questions? Please! Ridiculous.

13. Yes. She's a liar. Video evidence of lies about bridge to nowhere,
the troopergate investigation... She lies with ease, so there is no need for me to believe anything she says.

10%?
I find it hard to believe at least 80-90% of the stuff that comes out of her mouth - and I'm being generous.
Maybe you left off a zero?

3. Most TV journalists are well educated and at least upper middle class.
They tend to hang out with other smart people -- dare I call them "elite"? The problem is they have a low self esteem in regards to what "regular people" think. And they also have low self esteem about the fact that they probably don't do much "good honest work" like cooking dinner. Therefore, they fawn over Palin for being so "regular" to make up for their feelings of not knowing many "regular" people. The problem is I, as a regular Mom, find Sarah Palin to be an utter phony. She does not strike me as a typical working mother of small children. Most I know are very stressed out trying to balance work and family, and that stress never ends. The truth is Sarah Palin has an immense amount of help for child care and meals. But she does know HOW to cook and care for a baby, so she does those things for show, and the media fawn all over her.

A lot of viewers actually admire morning news shows, so this thing feeds on itself. I for one am a pretty good detector of a phony. I saw it in Edwards and I see it in Palin. She is not the happy mother homemaker she claims to be -- you see, she tried that, and was bored, so she ran for office.

As soon as real work is being done, who actually believes that the media will be scrambling to Wasilla to find out how clueless she continues to be.

she's earned my scorn on other issues, but on this one she definitely has.

I mean, Ted Bundy was 'incredibly candid' too, if you believe he wanted to show you his etchings.

was using the same script...saying that she was so "personable" and "real" , etc. Wasn't that the original problem....that she was too much of the everyday person, as in unqualified as hell...and had a habbit of lying about her record? The media is trying really hard today.

15. It's nauseating and frightening that the MSM is starting to say these things now.
Do they want to keep her alive for the sake of their ratings, or are they having some sort of
journalists' remorse for showing her to be the moron that she is?

17. my guess is it's the ratings?
The media really seems to want her to take Stevens senate seat...so that she can run in 2012 and bring the drama. Maybe they feel like they need to kiss her ass during this period so they can get future media access. I really have no idea. She doesn't sound any more coherent today than she did for the Katie Couric interview.

David Shuster had an anchor from Alaska on earlier, and he asked what Alaskans thought of her various fuck ups (he named a few). The anchor said that Sarah Palin was "just joking on the VP" answer (even though her defense had been that she was "talking to a third grader", right?) and that Alaskans saw it as the outside media trying to trap Palin and them not understanding Alaska. But didn't her approval ratings in Alaska fall because of these national stories too? It's just been like this all day on MSNBC.

If it was anybody from KTUU, anything they say is suspect. The horrible Meg Stapleton of the now-defunct (apparently) Palin Truth Squad, and Bill McAllister, Palin's press secretary, are both formerly reporters at KTUU. The station seems to be some kind of incubator for Palinbots.

30. that might have been it! Not positive though.
I do love the former Palin staffer that they have come on who just trashes her...the same guy who moderated the Alaska gov debate. Appearing "from DC". Did he live in DC before she was announced, or is he just getting the special treatment now bc he provides the in dept look at Palin's psychosis/neurosis.

36. Matt Lauer makes me ill.
Everytime I hear his name it takes me back to a Tim Robbins "interview" in the days preceding the Iraq invasion. Granted 95% of the nation's news media was pushing the invasion, but Lauer was one of the worst cases I witnessed, just infuriating. He treated anybody who opposed the imminent invasion as a traitor to the country, and just attacked Robbins for the whole segment. The whole tone was "We're going to war, so who are YOU to have an opinion and how DARE it be different from President Bush's?"

If the press hadn't been one big cheerleading squad for invading we might have had some hope for stopping it before that travesty happened.

With the likes of Matt Lauer ruling the airwaves and shutting down anybody who dared dissent, there was no chance of that.

To this day I cannot stomach the man.
