40. Stormfront seems moderate compared to that list.
TexasDarlin may have fallen out with the bigots at noquarter for either being to bigoted or not bigoted enough, officially it seems to be due to her being a gullible bigot for believing some punk who claimed he was "expert" at revealing photoshop changes.

NoQuarterbigots are tearing the life out of those who do not bigot strongly enough in favour of Sarah Plain. As for Incontinent Daughter and the Flatulence, they are still supporting the other mad Larry and complaining about how the DNC said they were not needed. Well more than obviously we did not need those bunch of bitter bigots.

6. It's such a stupid argument.
Of course he was born in Hawaii, but even if he wasn't it doesn't matter. His mother was an American citizen so he's a citizen regardless of where he was born. :eyes:

16. No, you must be a 'natural born' citizen, not native born.
Edited on Tue Nov-11-08 04:11 PM by bowens43
The 1790 Congress, many of whose members had been members of the Constitutional Convention, provided in the Naturalization Act of 1790 that "And the children of citizens of the United States that may be born beyond the sea, or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born citizens."

But , since Obama was born IN the USA , this is interesting but not relevant.

17. I'm almost positive that being born to an American citizen means that you are "native born"
regardless of where you're physically born.

If I'm wrong then McCain wasn't qualified since he was born in Panama.

36. No, it doesn't. You have to be born on U.S. soil to be President.
The McCain Panama thing has been discussed, and I'm not convinced he's Constitutionally qualified, but it's a moot point now.

41. You do not have to be born on U.S. soil.
I've been using the wrong term - "native born". The proper term is "natural born", and "natural born" has been defined by Congress to include the children of citizens regardless of where they are born.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural-born_citizen
US constitutional definition

The special term "Natural-Born Citizen" is used in particular as a requirement for eligibility to serve as President or Vice President of the United States. Section 1 of Article II of the Constitution contains the clause:
“ No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States. ”

Additionally, the 12th Amendment to the Constitution states that: "No person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States."

The Fourteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution provides an additional source of constitutional doctrine stating that birth "in the United States" and subjection to U.S. jurisdiction at the time of birth, entitles one to citizenship:
“ All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the Jurisdiction thereof, are Citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. . . ”

However, the full text of the fourteenth amendment does not mention the phrase "natural-born citizen," nor does it address Presidential qualifications. The phrase "natural born Citizen" is not defined anywhere in the Constitution.

Section 8 of Article I confers on Congress the power "to establish a uniform Rule of Naturalization..." This power has been construed to include defining the characteristics of a "natural born citizen", as well as the conditions of "naturalization".

The 1790 Congress, many of whose members had been members of the Constitutional Convention, provided in the Naturalization Act of 1790 that "And the children of citizens of the United States that may be born beyond the sea, or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born citizens."

9. Have they so little faith in their own party?
Do they really think that the McCain camp or the RNC wouldn't have pursued any available path to destroy Obama? And, for that matter, have they never heard of the Clintons? Say what you will (and I say all this admiringly), the Clintons would have found a fake birth certificate in a nanosecond and been out there right about after Iowa. Delusional and sad folks over a FR.

Edited on Tue Nov-11-08 03:59 PM by gauguin57
... all those agencies didn't VET OBAMA THOROUGHLY (as in, whether he's a friggin' American citizen or not ) when it became clear he could be the Democratic nominee? The Treas. Dept.'s Secret Service had to protect him ... do the Freepies REALLY think they (along with all those other agencies charged with keeping our country safe from within and without) didn't pull Obama's DNA off some glass somewhere (and look at every document he ever came in contact with in his life)??? I mean, SERIOUSLY! Do they have no idea how the world works ... how the U.S. government works? Do they really think the U.S. gov't, under Republican G.W. Bush, wouldn't have checked the circumstances of the guy's birth records (along with everything else)?

What a bunch of naive little doofuses.

31. Berg's suit was thrown out at the federal district court level.....
...due to lack of standing. It's been dismissed at the court of appeals as well, and is now in the hands of the Supreme Court. (and yes, they're claiming the judges were in the bag for Obama)

Other simular suits in Washington, Ohio, Virginia, and elsewhere have been dismissed as well. The claim is "cowardly activist judges who don't care about the constitution" *rolls eyes*
