David Shuster is on replacing David Gregory and has Jindal from Louisiana |
|
on. Shuster is so much better than Gregory! If I had not read all the things Jindal really stands for, I would think he is a down-to-earth human being. In my opinion, this type of Republican is more dangerous than Palin the hillbilly from Wasilla.

2. I was thinking that too. |
|
Jindal seems like more of a threat than Palin. Shuster is so much better as a moderator than David Gregory, it's ridiculous...asked Jindal some tough question (well, not "tough", but you know...Jindal said that this would be a good opportunity for the Republican governors to get over the election, and Shuster was like "Then shouldn't Palin lay low a little?" and asked if he would be doing a press conference and the whole shebang like her at the governors conference, haha). Also, according to Jindal, he was asked to be vetted but said thanks but no thanks.

3. Permanent replacement? |
|
Or just temporary?
I haven't heard anything about David Gregory being ousted from that time slot.

7. This is the "new" republican face |
|
1) browner 2) convincingly placid 3) soft spoken
I think the powers that be, in the party, have more or less given up on the religiofreaks, and are trying to appeal to the more libertarian republicans.
The rich ones will be ok, no matter whivh party "rules", so they can be easily brought back into the fold with promises of tax cuts, but the ones who are broke, and don;t know why, are the ones the new republicans are aiming for..
Notice how Jindal swung the discussion to health care..As IF!!..republicans only care about ONE kind of health care..THEIR OWN...but by speaking in bland platitudes, there are some wordsmiths in the republican party who will be able to convince people that they can deliver health care, and maintain the low-no tax mantra.

8. Jindal is the GOP's Obama impersonator. |
|
In that sense, I am not impressed.
He talked, but said little....even if he said nothing better than Palin ever could.
Poor GOP.....looking for their own version of Obama. That ain't gonna be easy, cause he's a one of a kind.

I doubt he runs in '12. He's only 37, and a matchup w/Obama may be too much too soon.

12. The marketing begins. They're trying Jindal out in front of the national public. |

If the Dems don't do anything to nip this momentum for Jindal in the bud, we'll have worry about him in 2012 along with Palin.
We cannot rest on our laurels. We cannot roll over and play dead while the Republicans push their "memes" and "rising stars" in the MSM.

14. I laugh at the idea of Jindal running |
|
The GOP is a very very small tent. No way the hardliners who make up the bulk of the base vote for someone who looks like he does. Or in other words, if we had to wait for the GOP to nominate someone of color, it would be at minimum 50 to 100 years before that would happen. Lest we forget 98 percent of their delegates to their convention were white males. Jindal may run, but not a chance he gets the nomination. There is no comparison whatsoever to what Obama accomplished as a Dem to his story.

they want brown people in their party but not in leadership positions. I don't think their base would go for anything other than a white person.

Jindal comes across as so moderate and reasonable - scary!
Also agree about David Shuster. He is really better than Gregory. 1600 is a pretty boring show, but Shuster brings something to it that Gregory doesn't.

21. The GOP is crippled and broken... |
|
and the people they are trying to bring up are horrible social dominist/authoritarians. The GOP is going to have to evolve or die, running on out of touch ideas and being out of touch with Americans/the world is not going to work. If people have not seen the destructive force that is the Repuke party, they must have been asleep for 8 years. Not to mention previous repuke administrations that left a trail of death in their wake.
The entire party is dated, a party from a by gone era that needs to remain in that era. Every time they get control they set us back 20 to 30 years and we have to make sure that does not happen anymore.
The GOP needs to be exiled along with their religious fanaticism; which is Jindal and Palin.

opportunistic republicans - he is so hard right because it gets him further in his party - he stumps the churches because it will get him elected.
Don't trust him, and don't turn your back on him.
