Who Should be Secretary of State ? Your Opinions
I posted an article on Politicallore.com to ask for who people thought Obama should nominate for Secretary of State, I have to imagine they are trying to pick the absolute best candidate for the job... But this still gives us some fun in having our own "input".

The Article is here
http://www.politicallore.com/presidential-candidates/barack-obama/who-should-be-secretary-of-state/450

I am trying to figure out who should be in our upcoming poll, so list multiple choices here!

1. Who ever Obama chooses
It is - after all - his choice - not mine. And I trust him to choose well....

3. Kerry is about perfect for and has earned whatever job he wants
but if he'd rather not then I'm fine with Richardson.

6. I think Kerry is my preference
I worry about taking him out of the Senate though. Kennedy has cancer so if he has to leave office and we were to have Kerry go to the Obama administration, we would lose 2 senior Senators from Mass.

8. Kerry.- more than qualified and deserving. I want him to be remembered
for being more than just the man that lost to Bush and went back to the Senate. Of course this is what I would like to happen. Maybe, he is content where he is. Unfortunately, history will not record much of his efforts in the Senate. The Secretary of State position on the other hand offers him a chance be part of history in an historic presidency and a chance to be involved first hand in world changing events.

14. Kerry is invaluable in so many ways.....
What a tough decision there. Awesome senator, great-president that wasn't, ass kicking attorney, experienced vet....

Anywhere he winds up, the other places, imo... lose out.

I don't know many of the people in your article, so I can't help out regarding your up coming poll..sorry.

I like Gen. Wes Clark but I don't know if he'd better serve as Defense Sec. or as SOS... not sure about his communication skills and how they'd compare to his strategical abilities.

Any help whatsoever? lol.. hope so. If not, still had fun, playing.

26. I think it should be Colin Powell
Edited on Wed Nov-12-08 01:15 AM by spokane
before you guys go ape crap on me...hear me out...

Colin was there when Commander Joker and his merry men decided to invade, IMO
he knows the crapology behind Bushes ideology and would be able to point out
what was the thinking before and after they came to the decision. He can definitely
help undo all the inept Laws that where past.

Have him there for 2yrs and then put a Dem in, where as by then most dem in the Senate
will be up for re-election. Using Senators is just not wise on my part because we will
have to find a capable individual to replace that Senator.

Kerry has already been re-elected and it would be pointless to give up that seat after
running or re-elecion.

Besides...Colin might just have a secret VENDETTA.

My 2cent.
