I don't want the country to "come together". TO HELL WITH THAT!!!!
I'd rather people learn how to argue without acting like complete fucking assholes. I do think dissagreements and divisness on issues are healthy for Democracy. Especially in a crisis situation where these clowns in Washington like to use as an opportunity to snow plow us with shit.

I don't want bi partisanship either. Fuck that shit man.

That just reeks of one party rule and that's something this country is trying to get away from.

Fuck NO!!!

I like that people are more involved, interested and allowing their political persuasions to grow and change in this country. After two decades of apathy our Democratic society is finally starting to act like one.

Come together?

No.

1. I don't want WASHINGTON to come together, but I want us civilians to do so.
I'm tired of Karl Rove's "Culture war," pitting city against suburb and neighbor against neighbor.

We're all Americans, damn it.

3. We will need at least 2 more terms to clean up Bush's mess
therefore, we will need the swing voters again in '10 and '12.

7. Why? So they can be like the conservatives were with Bush?
I think Progressives have to set the example here. Conservatives walk lock-step with each other and that's whats driven that ideology off of a cliff.

Dissagreement is OK!!!

It's HEALTHY!!!!

8. Fuck working with the other party. That's one-party rule.
Two-party rule is when the party in power ignores the other party and does whatever the fuck it feels like. People are sick of the rampant bipartisanship and power-sharing in Washington, and are looking for one side to run roughshod over Congress. That's what Obama promised, and that's what we're going to make sure he delivers.

11. GOP Bipartisan garbage is a lie, first last and always
Edited on Tue Nov-11-08 11:48 PM by mikehiggins
They are trying to define the O administration the same way they tried to define the campaign. Screw that. There are GOP folk out there who do want to work together for the common good but the vast majority of GOPukes are just continuing the endless campaign into the future.

Folks have got to STOP thinking these people have anything in mind other than obtaining, retaining and abusing power on a national, state and local level. If there is an actual "conspiracy" out there it has to be the GOPuke party and they are not giving up just because us stupid, misled sheep have somehow put "that one" in office. They will fight O from the first minute and do everything in their power to leave him impotent and powerless in office.

On another note, that is why Reid and Pelosi should be replaced. Neither of them shows any real understanding of what is going on and what is going to happen OR one or the other or both of them is/are secretly a DINO. The vision of Reid backing down to LIEberman is out and out disgusting and just as anti-Democratic Party as the LIEman himself.

We need DEMOCRATS leading the charge in the House and Senate and neither of these two can be trusted to do the job.

Just my opinion, of course...

And edited to add, job one should be reestablishing the Fairness Doctrine and extending it to cover cable and satellite transmission.

19. Whatever Obama says we know he's not about to screw around
he'll try, he'll give them chances, he'll work with those that are willing to do business, but anyone that thinks Obama is not prepared to hit the Republicans in the mouth as required is a naive dreamer and anyone who believes the Republicans are even remotely prepared to participate like adults is smoking otherworldly stuff.

Its going to get ugly in spots here, don't be fooled. It'll get messy because they are delusional dead-enders.
There is no further debate, their basic philosophies are utterly failed and/or are unconstitutional. Ideas and philosophies are very different things. Conservatives have some solid notions, ideas, and maybe a few concepts but the policies and the philosophies are toast. In order for them to be of any use and more if they aren't going to be toxic, they really do have to go back to the drawing board and come back with rational belief systems and policies. I mean seriously, they have no further to the right to move that can be had under even a seriously strained version of the Constitution and they fail to grasp that the only reason we have economies is as a means to distribute resources. How do people truly expect to work from where they are? Has the last 40-45 years appeared to be a negotiation?

We'll play nice but count on an iron fist being in the velvet glove. Rightly, I'll add.

20. Well, you're not going to enjoy the next 8 years.
We are going to come together as a people and leave the extremists exposed as the nutcases they are. The Republicans are going to have to moderate their platform. The pendulum has swung too far to the right and now it's coming back the other way.

21. You voted for the wrong guy then...Nader was your candidate...
Personally, I'd love it if most people looked towards what brings us together instead of what divides us. I actually think this would be a cool thought for Washington, DC as well. Its amazing how even the simplest and important of thoughts can be bastardized into something inflamatory.
