McCain just now on Leno: "You have to have a respectful campaign." |
|
Yeah. No shit. Maybe you would've carried 200 EV's if you had followed your own advice.

3. More than a few dollars short, and a few days late and a great deal of damage done. |

4. If the McCain of 2000 had run this year |
|
it would have been a very close election and could have gone either way. Too bad that Grampy decided that pandering to the Rovians and fundy freaks was more important than being true to his real self. Decisions like that have a way of boomeranging in a Wile E. Coyote sort of way.

It couldn't have been eight months ago that I had an extremely enormous amount of respect for McCain. Hell, I even liked him.

7. I liked McCain back in 2000 |
|
Not that I would have voted for him over Al Gore, but I had respect for a Republican that called out Falwell and Robertson as the bigots they were, and I felt bad for him when he was slimed by BushRove in South Carolina. The extent of his sellout was that he welcomed those same people into his own 2008 campaign. There is a kind of sadness in that.

8. The "McCain of 2000" is a myth. John McCain has always been a self-serving, nasty POS. |

He could put on a fair imitation of a decent human being from time to time, but the guy has been a spoiled, selfish prick his whole life and the rigors of a long campaign made it too hard for him to hide his true persona. Remember, this guys childhood nickname was "McNasty."
John McCain is, and always has been, SCUM.

6. I just watched that Lee Atwater special on PBS and it makes me |

hate those freaks even more. Sleezy, nasty, people. No real desire to lead the country in the right place...just a desire to beat the other guy with horrible tactics. Everything mccain and that twit did was straight out of the atwater/rove book.
