Mark it down, Palin will get caught in a new scandal between now and 2012. |
|
Hopefully by 2010.
I have a feeling that she's going to have a tough time re-adjusting to life as Alaska's Governor -- particularly once the requests for interviews start to slow down. My hunch is that she'll jump on any opportunity to capitalize on her newfound "fame", notwithstanding the current controversy over the clothes. And since the Republican legislature in her state can't stand her, I'm not seeing them doing her any favors by keeping quiet.
Anyway, that's just my guess.

|
between now and 2010 to get into any trouble at all. She's going to be the darling of the right-wing circuit. They will book her into every dog and pony show at $40K a pop. She'll be a zillionaire by 2010, and a "commentator" on the cable chatter channels.

6. That's exactly what prompted my post. |

I don't think you can give paid speeches as a sitting public official. She's got to be really careful in terms of what you can and cannot accept, and I doubt she has the patience of the desire to do that.
Completely agree on her not spending time in Alaska. Hopefully she meets the same fate as Liddy Dole in 2 years.

15. Sorry, there ain't going to be any $40K a pop nothing............ |
|
It is Alaska state law that anyone holding statewide office is not allowed to earn income outside of their state salary.
Now, they could invite her for "free" and maybe pay Todd for his appearance...but I'm not quite sure on that.

on all the Palin Family antics - from now until forever. With all the other washed up has-beens like Jen who still loves Brad and the anorexic Olson twins and Brittney's latest breakdown. She has that same kind of lurid car-wreck appeal, you want to look away but just can't!

16. Right now, we're just less than 2 weeks out from the election |
|
and the MSM is still paying attention.
Sooner or later, in a few months, that will fade and the Palins and their kith and kin will get lazy and return to their old ways thinking no one is watching.
But you just the Natinoal Enquirer has permanently moved several reporters to Anchorage and Wasilla and Juneau. You can take that to the bank?

She has already abused her office to get personal revenge on a state employee, she has used state funds for family vacations, hired friends, taken huge amounts of travel money per diems for staying at home, used funds illegally for a shopping spree for herself and her family, allied herself closely with witch hunting and anti-semitic pastors, as well as speaking to and possibly being a member and certainly being married to a member of a secessionist anti-American party, covered up actions, banned books, circumvented state email, had a house built for her by a contractor, shown abject ignorance about all the major issues of the day, etc. etc.
And still, her opinion is the most valued and most sought after of the day.
Everyone knows what she is, and it doesn't seem to slow her down at all. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a scandal. She'll just have to be beaten as what she is.

24. Or her old scandals will finally catch up to her and bite her on the ass, hard. |
|
Watch for the following scandals to pop up one at a time over the course of the next several months:
1. Baby-gate: whether or not Trig is her baby, there is something really fishy about her pregnancy story. Getting on an 11 hour flight when you're in labor??? The key to this story will be that carefully hidden doctor of Palin's. That's where investigative reporters need to focus on - because if that doctor is engaged in some sort of cover-up for Palin, and if that cover-up is uncovered, Palin is history.
2. Per-diem gate: $700 hotel nights on state taxpayer dime? Paying for travel for her children?
3. Trooper-gate: She's deluding herself if she thinks that scandal is over. You have some pissed off Alaskan politicians and police officers, and I don't think they're going to let this go away very easily.
4. Shotgun wedding-gate: The unhappy forced groom to Bristol Palin is going to get an offer from the National Enquirer to spill the beans on Sarah Palin. When that wedding is called off, watch for fireworks.
There are just too many people in Alaska who know too much about Palin. Now with the election over, money and a chance at 15 minutes of fame will soon bring them out of the woodworks. Just need one person to be the first one to step forward, and then the dam will burst.
Bloggers in Alaska, if you want your shot at blogosphere fame, do some investigative reporting in Wasilla!

But after thinking about it, I'm glad. That woman is going to bring more embarassment to the GOP, so I say keep her in the spotlight. This is going to be fun.
