The over the top crap about Obama from the wingnuts isn't such a bad thing |
|
they're marginalizing themselves. The obsessive fixation on Obama's birth certificate being false, the comparisons to Nazis and the claim that he's a marxist thug, do not help the repukes. I hope they keep up with the crap about Obama's citizenship. That's a real loser for them.

2. They said all this bad stuff about Obama and lowered expectations |
|
Then Obama walked out of the debates smelling like a rose. He was likeable, calm, and nothing like the manic descriptions.

I agree that they're marginalizing themselves. Barack Obama won the PV by 6.6% (and counting). He broke the GOP Southern strategy. And he did it with a large percentage of his opponents saying things like "He's a terrorist. He's a Communist. He's the Antichrist." Consider his election performance in that light. What was his performance among Americans who don't have their heads up their asses. Two-thirds or better? Politically, yes, it's good that they can't shut up about it. But they are marginalizing Obama with this talk. Marginalizing him to people who don't think he's an American and might not think he's quite human. That's a bad thing. Molly Ivins wrote about what Dallas was like in 1963 before the Assassination. She said you could see and feel the hate; Dallas at that time was a really twisted place. This community of haters is not confined to Dallas. It leaks out over the airwaves and covers our whole country.
