Root cause of the obsession with P&#^N. National IQ crashed due to the Bush years?
The glut of mindless, aimless TV reality shows finally got to people and dumbed them down? Or is it just incredible laziness - the analogy of wolfing down junk food instead of cooking something healthy for dinner....or not having the guile or ambition to talk about real substantive topics, like solutions for getting our country out of its many messes.

I just don't get it. I really don't.

3. Um, she didn't win.
No one's obsessed with her but the TV networks--and then only because, as Tina Fey said, she doesn't seem to want to get back to governing Alaska.

7. actually a lot of people are obsessed with her, both those that despire her and those that love her
which is why the media is covering her (along with the fact that there is a post-election vacuum to fill and the Obama team has wisely chosen not to step into that trap).

And whatever else can be said about her -- and I can't think of anything good to say about her -- she is more "exotic" than your typical national political figure. She's a cartoon, a clown, a moose shooting, you betcha-ing goof ball, and like a critter in the zoo, the reporters (and a lot of the public) are fascinated her. If she was Kay Baily Hutchinson, this wouldn't be happening, because KBH isn't exotic -- she's a typical Washington pol.

But the laugh is on Sarah, because after she parades her goofy demeanor around for everyone to see, Obama is going to stand up in front of the Capitol, in front of the largest audience to watch an inaguration in person and on tv, and he's going to remind everyone what a real president looks and sounds like. ANd its not like bozo-ette the moose killer.

4. Not just Shrubbie's years, but the whole Nixon to today spread of administrations
Though Clinton raised it up a little, the Republicans in charge of the House and Senate and the Republicans in charge of the media still managed to keep intellectual curiosity as the greatest sin that one can commit in this country.

8. Even though she said she wouldn't, I really hope that Fey opens SNL
this weekend and sticks the final fork in this one.

Please, Tina, America needs you!
