I'll be honest.

3. It's like picking the Superbowl 8 seasons from now.
Completely futile and you are almost 100% guaranteed to be wrong.

11. And where was Bill Clinton in 1984?
Considering that presidents #42 and #44 were each virtually unknown 8 years previously, I'm not even going to guess who's this party's leading star 8 years from now.

Something else Bill & Barack have in common.... keynote speeches at a previous Presidential convention. Guess that means we might meet the 45th President at the 2012 convention? Even that's 4 years away, but they better choose the speakers carefully......

13. Really? His "keynote" speech had the opposite effect on me and others with me.
Those of us watching at the time tried to find the right metaphor for how unimpressive he was.

Our best was "John Edwards without the charm".

And at the risk of offending, that leaves very little, indeed.

14. Tell that to Bill Clinton.
Remember his speech in 1988 at Dukakis's convention?

25. Warner's speech was a snorefest
Clinton in 1988 was not a bad speech, just too long.

But it's just crazy to speculate at this point.

8. Just speculation, but what if Biden wasn't on the ticket in 2012?
Biden will be pushing 70 when it comes time for Barack to run again. I've wondered during this campaign if he might decide to keep his brand fresh by picking someone else for his second term. FDR did this when he was president. It would seem that if that were to happen, and it is a big if so please save the hysterics, that person would be the prohibitive favorite for the 2016 nomination.

16. Because Senator Clinton markets herself under the name "Hillary"
Just like Rudy Giuliani marketed himself as "Rudy". When you have a well known last name and a first name that isn't incredibly common (John, for example) you can market yourself by your first name.

I'm not for or against a possible run on her part but I'd like to know why she's on your early favorites list.

19. How about Tim Kaine?
I have found him a really effective surrogate. He's always relaxed and happy in interviews. He is conservative on some social issues but he has eight years to build up a more progressive record. And as a friend of Obama, he could get a prime job in the administration after retiring as gov.

However, I like Schweitzer as well. I've heard Herseth-Sandlin's name thrown around but don't know much about her as a politician.
