PA Lt. Gov. Dies, No Chance for Rendell in Obama Admin
PA Governor is now likely out of any spot int he Obama Administration.

PA Lt. Gov. Catherine Baker Knoll has died tonight. GOP President of the Senate takes over as Lt. Gov. That means, Rendell goes no where.

I'm too blunt and realistic, too. I don't apologize for it.

That's really sad, although not surprising. She's been ill.

6. As a person
Catherine was an outstanding and warm personality. I have had the pleasure, working int he State Capitol, to have met her more than a few times and have also campaign on her behalf when she ran for State Treasurer and Auditor general. She really was a true icon of Pennsylvania politics. No matter who you talk to, you think of politics in Pennsylvania and women, you automatically think of Catherine Baker Knoll. A true icon.

8. My condolences.
She lived right down the road from me. We were just talking about her the other day, wondering about her health, while cleaning up the local Obama office. She was a remarkable woman and a real source of pride for folks in the Rocks.
I didn't know her well, met her during the '04 election when I was a poll watcher at the polling station near her home.

I think every Dem in the area has a story about meeting Catherine. She'll be missed.

9. Why does the Pres. of Senate take over the Lt. Gov. spot?
I didn't know Rendell was up for any post in the cabinet. Was he?

10. His name was floated but who knows if he would have ever seen a spot. I was hoping not.
Rendell was not loyal to Obama only until he had PA in the bag then slick eddy was singing a new tune. He's an embarrassment.

12. The Lt. Governor is like a VP and is President of the state Senate
so the President Pro tempore would be next in line.

I don't think Fast Eddie is up for anything but I guess the OP was speculating on the possibility.

11. Condolences to Ms. Knoll's family. Mr. Rendell is one of my favorite
surrogates from this campaign. I was always fired up after listening to him - and would like to have me backing me if I'm ever in a fight. So I wish him the best no matter what he does.
