What are we going to do to make the msm SHUT UP about Palin?
I don't get it!

She had a 40% approval rating (compare that to Biden with 65% approval)

Why do they keep shoving her down our throats?

But more importantly - how can we join together and make them shut up about her?

She lost. She was part of the reason they lost.
Make her go away.

1. It will die down...
Honestly at this point let them play with their shiny little toy and leave Obama to get things done without them hammering him on petty minutiae. Every time she talks people dislike her more and more.

29. I agree - the novelty will wear off
...or maybe someone close to her will point out that she's making herself look more and more foolish every time she opens her yap.

It's not us that's keeping her front and center, it's the m$m. When they should be shamed at their role in all this, they have not a clue. I guess dumb 'politicians' are all the rage at the moment.

and me then it's probably a good thing they're giving her so much overexposure. Just the sound of her voice makes my skin crawl.

4. Good luck..
It is a trainwreck. And with every trainwreck, the MSM likes to show the most gruesome and shocking pictures the censors will allow because shocking = ratings. Why was Jerry Springer so popular. Same reason. Human stupidity and pathos = ratings. And the ratings are even higher when someone from government can be knocked down because generally, as a culture we distrust our government and want to see that they are fallible like we are. Just my 2 terms of psych in college analysis... :)

5. I don't know what we can do
But all this media attention could work against her.

Many people hate her. Many republicans see her as the primary reason for their defeat.

The only people she appeals to are the same idiots that supported her during the campaign.

Media overexposure will give the majority of the population a whopping case of "Palin Fatigue" that could drive her aprovals even further into the shitter.

I just avoid watching her, and trusting that she's not doing herself any favors by burning out the stupidity-tolerance of the very people she hopes to get a second chance from.

but Margaret Carlson was on reporting from the republican governor's meeting down in FLA this week and she said most of the governor's had hoped that Palin wasn't going to attend...they didn't want her there, as much as we don't want her on our TV sets.

15. Let it sink---or Let her sink on her own.
We should quit talking about her. Olbermann and Maddow should quit talking about her, etc.

Obama is huddling to finish up his cabinet choices and making so many decisions for our future, so there is a vacuum in the "news" in which she has interjected herself, with MSM more than happy to oblige. The news WILL change soon enough.

I know--- I am just pushing the mute button whenever she comes on---and that includes KO and Rachel. I am trying to convince myself of what I just said above. LOL

16. She's a ratings driver...
...and that's the only reason that they're allowing her to conduct this
shameless PR debacle.

She is such a twit.

Obviously, she's got an incredibly high opinion of herself. She's oblivious to the
fact that most Americans think she's a joke, and the only reason she garners high
ratings is because everyone wants to watch her next hilarious gaffe.

The notion that she gives advice or helpful anecdotes to Barack Obama, is so incredulous.
She's not even in Obama's league. She's totally in the clouds...posing as someone who
has the intelligence and clout to tell our President of the United States what he should
do and how he should think.

Most Republicans in my neighborhood can't stand her and wish she would go away. A few of
them voted AGAINST McCain because of her stupidity. Yet, she wants to give Obama advice
about fighting terrorists.

What's happening here is that 15 percent of the Republican party--the real bottom of the
barrel wingnuts--are providing an illusion of widespread support for her. She's hanging
on their ever word and assuming that the rest of the world feels the same way as the
total lunatics that constantly scream at her, "Oh Sarah!! You're so gutsy! You have to run in 2012!!"

It's absurd. :eyes:

22. What do you think her 2012 chances are in the Iowa caucuses?
Edited on Thu Nov-13-08 10:03 AM by ClarkUSA
I presume the real reason she spent so much time in Iowa during those last weeks was to establish a loyal 2012 following there.
The Iowa GOP is run by hard right religious evangelical types who are crazy about her so I'd bet she would do fairly well, although
if Huckabee runs again, it should be interesting.

36. I don't have good news...
...because there is a far-right, religious-wacko contingent in Iowa.

Remember, in 1988--Pat Robertson finished a strong second, just behind George Bush Sr.
Robertson won 14 of Iowa's 99 counties.

In 1996, Pat Buchanan came in close to Bob Dole, who won the Iowa Republican caucus that year.

As you said, Huckabee won in the most recent Iowa Republican caucus.

Caucus goers tend to be "the party faithful." Religious conservatives are
very active in Iowa, and there are a lot of them.

Palin could take Iowa, easily. It scares me.

My husband loves this and is so giddy. He wants Palin on the 2012 ticket, because he thinks any
ticket with her name on it, will be annihilated. He wants us to donate to her campaign and
host fundraisers at our house. ...and he's serious.

42. LOL! There are so many ways to interpret "good news"...
Your husband's proposals are hilarious but I hope you dissuade him as I doubt his efforts will be needed to secure Palin's
victory in the caucuses. Now New Hampshire is another thing... :)

During the last year, I kept track of the takeover of the Iowa State Republican Party by far-right religious whackos and thought
they'd be Palin's base in 2012, Huckabee's possible candidacy notwithstanding. Let's face it, whackos know and love another
whacko when they see/hear one.

43. LOL...me too "decorating therapy."
That's hilarious. I wonder if others are doing this too.

After Paulson's big heist yesterday, I sat with the remote--switching
between MSNBC, CSPAN and "House Hunters."

When my brain couldn't handle any more pain from our current crisis, I switched
the channels, "Ahhhh...look at the pretty granite counters."

I have the distinct feeling that in the coming future, my tv viewing habits will be
go like this:

"ECONOMIC CRISIS, MORE MELTDOWN!!!" <click> "Let's paint the kitchen in butterscotch...yes, butterscotch...ahhhh."

"REPUBLICANS LED BY LIEBERMAN INVESTIGATE OBAMA!!!!" <click> "Greenery...I need more greenery....lalala."

HGTV--visual Valium in a troubled world.

Pick the most idiotic reporter and ridicule the reporter in a video posted on YouTube.

Someone could dub the reporter's words. Such as "Baby you make me hot!", "I was in Alaska once and could see Russia from my window too", "Sarah, I need help with the plumbing in my home. I need your expertise in unjamming the clog".
