Obama has done one thing right off the starting line VERY well...
He's making it very clear to the media that he isn't in power now. He very wisely deferred to GWB in regard to sending representatives to the G20 and even though the leaders wanted specifically to meet him, he politely refused.

Very, very smart move. It puts the focus squarely back on a lame-duck president and reminds us all that we shouldn't take our eyes off of GWB in the fading days of his presidency.

Very, very nice work, Mr. President-Elect.

1. He has also shown...
That he, unlike his predecessor, respects the Constitution and the rule of law. What a breath of fresh air!

2. One Constitutional Lawyer coming up.
May he restore that document to it's former glory in spite of the abuse it has suffered in the last eight years.

3. If Obama went to the G20 himself, all the leaders would want to talk to him and ignore Bush.
"Oh, hi Dubya. You still here?"

4. Smart move considering the loons are referring to this as an "Obama recession."

8. Exactly, if Obama had gone
he would've been blamed for the any outcome, although Bush is still the one in charge.

Let this all be seen as Bush's fuck up, which it is, while Obama is busy building the best team in generations to fix this horrendous mess.

6. It's the same thing FDR did between his election and inagural with Hoover
Edited on Thu Nov-13-08 01:17 PM by WI_DEM
Hoover kept trying to get his to cooperate with him and in essence endorse Hoover's program, but FDR had would have nothing to do with it. In fact, Hoover sent him a letter in early 1933 to attend a meeting, and FDR didn't respond for about two weeks claiming his "secretary had misplaced the letter." But historians have pieced together that was only an excuse and that FDR didn't want to be used by the incumbent president.

9. We indeed have to make sure this deep recession is fully blamed on Bush...

for the history books, if not future political purposes.
