I don't remember if the Dems got so much attention after 2004 compared to Repugs now
I was so discouraged after 2004, I was not even watching news anymore. Did the MSM fawn over the Dems and examine their prospects with such anguish at that time? The pushing for the Repugs to come back is almost groveling.

3. Oh, yes, I remember it well. The press
was fawning all over Edwards, wondering if he was gonna run in '08 and questioning Bush's every move. Bush just couldn't get any traction--it was like he lost the race or something.

You oughtta come and visit me in my alternate universe sometime. It's nice here.

5. Yes, there was plenty of talk about the Dems getting religion...
into the party, along with guns and anti-choice, etc. Basically the press was advocating that the Dems become rightwingnut Republicans because Americans couldn't relate to the traditional Democratic values.

was what I heard. Then they went and had the most expensive inauguration in history.

I was depressed for months.
