Personally I'd prefer Senator Clinton at Defense
If she's in the cabinet. It would be more ground breaking and I think she would be great at the Pentagon. I also think she would enjoy the job.

If anyone stalks, it's you, though. All you do is run around stalking anyone who says anything positive about someone you don't like and then you pounce on it and turn it into a flame so it gets locked.

You don't amuse me enough to waste my time stalking the likes of you. Now run along...

IMHO... Obama would do well to steer away from the Clintons. He did so very well during the campaign, and he should stick to it when choosing his cabinet. The Clintons are nothing but trouble.

that it has become second nature. You mention KOS, I won't even step into that nest of vipers, ditto for Huff and even here they were more vicious than in the RW sites during the primaries. Most Hillary supporters left for other sites, a few stalwart remained but not many.

I don't think that she would want to be in Obama's cabinet. She has more freedom and power in the senate.

51. As I said, extremity exists at both ends.
I remember some left wing radio host called Hillary a "whore" during the primaries.
Fortunately she was ousted from the airwaves.
"Vipers" is the right term for these nutty left wing activists.
I am pleased to see Obama threw them in the dump where they belong and shrewdly
built his own powerbase to work from. When I see the left wing "activists"
I think of our New Democratic Party and their "leader" Jack Layton.
They never get anything done. All they do is whine, complain, and attack the Liberals
instead of going after the real enemy in the right wing.
Hillary did the same thing in terms of building a powerbase.

Would pretty much assure that Obama would be a one term president. As a former Marine, I know that most of my buddies are having much consternation with Obama (democrat) as President. Making Hillary Sec of Defense would be a total slap in the face. The country would take notice.

I think Hillary should finish out her career in the Senate.

67. I dont usually do this, but what Kind of bullshit sexism are you pulling?
If you're going to pick a woman, they better have extensive military experience? Why not the same rules for men too??

73. It might be sexist
But the reality is that there are all types of double standards in this world. Some we can challenge outright and some we have to deal with intelligently. The military is a male dominated world. In order to make a woman Sec. def you are going to have to have a real compelling story for said woman.

75. Well said Military people would just have to get over their Sexist feelings...poor wittle babies
Hillary could have been President. Would that not have beeen satisfactory to you or them then? I find your defense of this to be pretty disgusting.

78. I wouldn't pick a man with no military experience to be Secretary of Defense, either.
In fact I would pretty much insist that Secretary of Defense be a former CAREER military officer. Gender doesn't enter into it.

81. I think some form of experience with military should be required, but that wasnt his argument
His argument was specific to it being a woman

84. You seem to hate Hillary, at least you trash her at every opportunity.
How much could we have in common?

85. Surprise, Surprise....I dont hate Hillary
I didnt like the campaign she ran (which we should agree to disagree on), but I've appreciated how she has acted since she got out of the race. I still have issues with Bill, but that is another issue for another time.

87. Well, I'll always think that Hillary was the better prepared to handle the job
at this point in time, but we don't always get what we want in life. I still hope though that she runs again and becomes our first woman president. In politics anything can happen and often it does.

76. You might be interested to know that Hillary won the respect of the top brass

by being very knowledgeable and by listening to them. One general said that she was actually the first politician that had listened to him and followed on his recommendations and not just given lip service like the others had done. Check her senator website. She has done a lot for the men and women in the service and has received several awards for her troubles.

I doubt that she would be offered, or even be interested, in the job but you can rest assured that she would fight very hard for all of you.

I was in the North Tower on 9/11 and saw up close the sacrifice of the NYFD and the NYPD. These people were initially opposed to her, but she fought very hard for them and managed to get billions of dollars from Congress to extend health care to all first responders.

The only endorsement for any candidate that brought me to tears was the one she received from the NYFD, they ended it with these words:

She's our hero.

;)

you would pick Hillary?

77. General Clark
I find it interesting that democrats love Clark and Republicans hate him. I think a guy like retired Marine General Jones (my commandant!), would be a great choice. He has not disclosed his political affiliations. He is admired by all of the military and both parties. He is a patriot who was willing to serve either administration. He believes Guantanamo needs to be closed immediately. FInally, he was raised in France and speaks fluid french.

80. Military personnel can'tt serve at Defense till they are retired for 10 years
without a special waiver from congress. Defense is genereally a civilian post.

Ask Dick Cheney.
