MSNBC: John Kerry said Clinton is in the SOS mix. |
|
Edited on Fri Nov-14-08 09:55 AM by Skwmom
I thought they said that he said Clinton would be the next SOS but I guess I heard wrong.
It is starting to look like a third Clinton term which wasn't what I voted for.

5. Is that what they said? I thought they said he believed she would be the next SOS. Did anyone else |

by I'm 100% sure that they just said he told friends that she was "in the mix" as a contender...the politico reporter made it sound as if he wasn't the "front runner" any more, that was just speculation on her part. But I def don't think Kerry said he thought it would be her, just that she was under consideration.

7. NOT what was rumored. Rumor is he thinks she is in the mix. Of course, transition staff is Clinton's |

He can console himself with being the Chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, 2nd in line on the Senate Commerce Committee, a seat on the Senate Finance Committee (hugely important in the upcoming fight over health care, energy, environment and so forth.)
Ah, I think life is looking good for Sen. Kerry no matter what happens in the possible transitions, both Presidential and Congressional. He is in a very, very good position. Also, it doesn't hurt to have powerful friends in the White House.

20. I heard Kerry WANTS to be in Senate to head SFRC and oversee INVESTIGATIONS. |
|
And that is EXACTLY what I want, too.

3 in the mix
Richardson, Kerry and Clinton and I thought I heard Daschle too.
Whoever it is should be able to communicate to the Saudis and other Middle East countries.

13. Then you didn't pay attention. |

As far as policy goes, there was very little difference between Obama and Clinton.
The difference is in the coalition that Obama built, the transparency he is advocating and the limits on lobbying.

15. I rewound the tape. David Schuster said exactly this: |
|
"John Kerry has now told some friends he believes Hillary Clinton is now the next for Secretary of State".
Not in the mix. The next SoS.

21. This could be that Shuster misspoke taking the other comment |
|
a little too far. The other things, like the meeting in Chicago give it more credibility.

17. I'm sure when you voted, you thought, "Boy, I sure hope Obama recognizes |
|
his mandate to pack technocratic cabinet positions with inexperienced no-names. I'll be sorely disappointed if he appoints anyone with any experience."
