The media doesn't know whats going on. But their fake rumors are dangerous
Claiming Richardson is lobbying for the SoS job. But when he doesn't get it, pisses off the Hispanics. Claiming Hillary is in line to get it. And when she doesn't, pisses off the hardcore Clinton supporters.

There aren't many leaks from Obama. So these people create the news story.

1. Richardson would be good for the position.

4. Richardson will likely be the pick. That upsets the Clintons. He is 'Judas', after all.
Thus they attempt to force Obama's hand with public pressure.

2. Every story has an agenda.
May not be obvious, but it's there. If someone is "leaking" that Richardson is begging for the job, they are trying to damage Richardson or Obama. Or maybe Clinton or Kerry, by trying to drum up support for another candidate.

The problem is, we don't know where the media is getting their story. It could be from Obama himself, trying to test the waters, or even to reward someone by having them seen as a serious contender. Think of the boost Clinton gets if she is considered for the job and then announces she can't accept it, for instance. It could be someone in the Clinton or Richardson camp, trying to influence things one way or the other. Could be a third party trying to damage both for their own goals, or could be a Republican saboteur trying to divide the whole party. We saw how eager they were to do that during the general election.

Could even be the media trying to drum up some drama on their own. It wouldn't be the first time that a "source" was another reporter speculating on possibilities, or reporting friend-of-a-friend rumors.

Anyway, just remember, whatever the story, we're being played. Until Obama announces who he has picked, everything else is just manipulation and PR.

3. I agree with you
I don't believe for a second this is coming from Obama. This same media had their sources who told us there would be a bloodbath on the convention floor. Or that whites wouldn't vote for Obama. Or Jews would vote for him, or hispanics etc.

5. I agree!
Anyone who knows the media knows that they do not have the good of the American people in mind.

They also do not have the Good of the upcoming Obama Administration in mind.

If they fool us again; shame on us.

6. Yes, I'm tired of their attempts of manipulation.
It's the problem with having 24/7 cable news. They have to find something to talk about.

10. Spreading divisiveness among the Democrats.
The Great Wurlitzer at work.

We better get used to it. This game will go on as long as the powers that be can profit from it.

13. The media is just doing their job.
If they had sources that said one thing or another, they have a duty to follow up on those sources. Sometimes those sources do not pan out to be true. Sometimes they do.

We do, however, need to take some things the media says with a grain of salt. News has become more of the entertainment variety. They do and say certain things to get people to watch so they can get ratings and make money. In that aspect, they do their job well, and for the most part the reporting of the news is done well too.
