Why not Robert Reich for Treasury?
I've long admired his acuity, his diplomacy and his eloquent way of expressing himself. I read his blog avidly. He's on Obama's Transition Team.

Check out his blog:

He's brilliant, has cabinet experience and is well-respected. Why not Reich for Treasury?

7. He's got a pretty solid economic background . . .
From Wiki:

Robert Bernard Reich (born June 24, 1946) is an American politician, academic, writer, and political commentator. He served as the twenty-second United States Secretary of Labor, serving under President Bill Clinton from 1993 to 1997. A Dartmouth graduate, Reich is a former Harvard University professor and the former Maurice B. Hexter Professor of Social and Economic Policy at the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University. He is currently a professor at the University of California, Berkeley's Goldman School of Public Policy. Reich is also on the board of directors of Tutor.com. He is a trustee of the Economists for Peace and Security. He is an occasional political commentator, notably on Hardball with Chris Matthews, This Week with George Stephanopoulos , CNBC's Kudlow & Company, and National Public Radio. On November 7, 2008, he was listed as one of the 17 members of President-elect Barack Obama's economic advisory team.<1>

11. He was the Labor Secretary
and was behind getting FMLA passed. I think he definitely has the experience with running a department. I'm sure Treasury is a different ball of wax, especially in today's economic environment. I just hate to see anyone who's been a Wall Street CEO take the reins.

12. yep.
That's what I like about him. He has a ton of experience on TV and on radio very regularly talking about the economic issues facing the government and its citizens. I know for a fact that he knows what is going on in the US and the world. I'd have a lot of confidence in him.

15. My first choice Robert for treasury would be Shilling
He may be the smartest economist with the best understanding of what's really happening.

Like him much more than his brother Curt.

16. Labor again, perhaps
I think we are in a new ballgame as of today.
Reich with the wind at his back might be a force to be reckoned with for American workers.
