Thus Far, I'm enjoying the hella out of the Post Election maneuvering.....
delicious thus far.......for political junkies, especially.
(nothwistanding the atrocious financial news and too many days till Jan 20th)

Obama wins by 8 million votes, and 365 EVs.

Democrats rejoice.
The world rejoices.
Republicans are dispirited, divided and beaten.

Republicans "WARN" us that Obama will have to govern as a "Centrist",
and doesn't have a progressive mandate.

Obama chooses Rham Emanuel as his Congressional Pit Bull....a moderate Centrist ready to kick ass on both sides of the aisle.

Republicans whine about Rahm Emanuel calling him partisan, and therefore say Obama will be partisan.
Many Democrats whine about Rahm Emanuel, calling him a DLC conservative, and worry that Obama will govern as a centrist.

Obama holds a News Conference with Economic heavyweights standing behind him.
Says he will not be rushed into making cabinet decisions.
Talks of a stimulus package -

PALIN, PALIN, PALIN, PALIN, PALIN 24/7 WALL TO WALL COVERAGE - looks like a fool.

Obama campaign leaks the closure of Gizmo.
Obama campaign leaks the intense review of Bush prior and future executive orders.
Obama campaign let it be known that the Auto Industry cannot be allowed to fail.

The Obamas go to the White House, the public sees the contrast between old and new....
and the public's impatience grows to have Obama take over.

Media reports that Obama's approval rating is through the roof.
Media reports that Bush's approval rating have hit an all time low.

PALIN, PALIN, PALIN, PALIN, PALIN 24/7 WALL TO WALL COVERAGE - looks like a fool.

Media side talks about Puppies, Girls' school, Obama love around the world, and Michelle's fashion choices. Sights of Magazine and newspaper covers galore of Obama, and anticipatory looking forward to the upcoming inauguration is the talk of popular culture all over.

Media tamps down expectations on what Obama can and will be able to do.

Media voices confirms that Obama should be BOLD and do "BIG" things to make changes.

Obama is likened to FDR by Newsweek.
Time hints that Obama will be Person of the Year.

PALIN, PALIN, PALIN, PALIN, PALIN 24/7 WALL TO WALL COVERAGE- Looks like a fool.

Obama stays above the frey as to what to do about Lieberman. States that he should be allowed to caucus with the Dems, but does not make any specific statement about Chairmanships.

Republicans voice that Obama should govern as a "Centrist" no longer heard.

Media voices wildly speculate as to who members of the cabinet will be. Kerry and Richardson are mentions.

Obama drops the "Hillary Clinton for SOS" bomb.
Some Democrats are pissed and would rather have Kerry.
Some Democrats are pissed and would rather have Richardson.
Many Democrats, especially those who supported Hillary like the idea quite a bit.

Obama invites a meeting with John McCain.

Obama is likened to Abraham Lincoln.

G20 Summit - They want to talk to Obama, not Bush.

That's where we are at now....so far, I'm loving it for all that it is worth....considering.

2. besides the annoying drum beating and encouragement
by the media that he "govern from the center"...the media has by and large seemed pretty freaking impressed by Obama thus far!

And...not to further beat the Palin drum, but....when I heard the Hillary possibility as SOS thing, I thought of the condescending way that Palin had said "He just couldn't bring himself to pick her as VP". Ha! And didn't she say on Greta that she had plans to call Hillary this week?

4. Yeah...Palin was going to call Hillary "tomorrow".
What I like is that Obama's seems to be doing whatever in the hell he wants to do thus far.

And he's making moves that are throwing folks off of their prediction games!

Good stuff! :smoke:

5. Has been action packed......
Also forgot the side story where the Obama Campaign is giving away campaign computer equipment to schools and paying the staffers an extra month of salary.

Meanwhile, many are starving to hear and see more of Obama (we saw him everyday on the trail)

Thus far, managing PR by the Obama team gets an "A"....and has been no less than great.

I've noticed that too--I'm missing him and feeling very impatient.

6. Great play by play! I know I'm addicted for the first time in my life!
I hate that he's coming into office and having to clean up a major mess, but I'm confident he's the only one capable of doing it.

7. .
As a political junkie, I'm happy. I was afraid I'd be jonesing pretty bad by now, but there is enough happening to keep me going, plus the pre election anxiety is gone. Yes. It's been a good week.
