A request for common sense and civility in thread titles

Please don't post a TITLE IN ALL CAPS

Please don't lead with "BREAKING!!!" There's two problems with this: one, everybody starts to do it and it just becomes pointless; two, it won't be "breaking" for very long but your thread might be around for a while.

Satire is cool, but it's getting to the point that almost half of the headlines are fake leads to a punch line under the fold. And to be really honest most of them aren't very funny.

But really the "BREAKING" thing is a huge pet peeve of mine and I wish people would stop doing that. Anybody else want to pile on here?

I have realized lately I avoid threads with "Breaking" in the title, especially in all-caps, usually because it's something I heard already ... hours ago.

Or, it's the latest whacked out theory giving PROOF that the world is a cube.

I find such shameless self-promoting Rec-sluts to be tedious and boorish.

Usually it's something like "Rec this thread if you are still breathing" or "rec this
thread if you agree Palin's a disgrace" .. i mean come on. If that's the only way
someone can make it to the Greatest Page, well ... it shows IMHO.
