Georgia DUers- What kind of chance does Jim Martin have?
I have the opportunity to go work down there for the special election, but my life is crazy right now and I don't want to go spend time on a lost cause. Talk to me about the enthusiasm (or lack thereof) you see, and what you think is up!

1. Kudos for even considering it. I don't live in GA, but Mike Malloy does
and I'd bet he has some insights. But knowing Mike, it's probably not going to be very encouraging. mikemalloy.com and novamradio broadcasts.

Also, Nate Silver at fivethirtyeight.com might be speculating. And of course, there's the GA DU Group.

Good luck!

6. In GA yes, and Obama did not win GA. That is the problem with GA.

3. I live in Alabama and plan to help.
I think it's a great chance to participate in a cause you believe in and meet people with similar values, even if you don't make a difference in the outcome of the election.

4. It's hard to get a feel for the runoff. It all comes down to turnout.

5. The fucking PUBS down here are nuts. I saw Sarah Palin bummer stickers down here Fri...
I don't think Martin can beat that ignorance. I don't know anyone who could.

7. In a runoff? Slim to none, and Slim's packing up to leave town
The only real shot he had, in my opinion, was to pull off an election day miracle.

8. Not good. His only chance is if discouraged Republicans stay home.
I think of 2004 when the last thing I wanted to see or hear about was anything political.

If Republicans feel the same way they might just stay home; but I doubt it.
