1. huh? what are you talking about? |
|
There has been no talk, that I know of, of Russ being offered a position in Obama's admin. Why should there be? In any case, I want him in the Senate.

3. The Two Don't Appear To Be Best Buds... |
|
Feingold was very, very quiet during the campaign. At one point I recall him saying things that were both critical of Obama and complementary of McCain (one imagines those two have a good friendship).
Russ dances to his own tunes, he's not one to be the subordinate. I firmly believe he sees the new Senate as a great opportunity to push forward with many of his pet causes and projects. He's sure be leading the way in restoring Constitutional law to this country...in the judiciary and then in rolling back the repressive Patriot Act, illegal wiretapping and torture.

4. they may not be best buds but he did vote for Obama |
|
although he seemed to equally be supportive of Obama and Hillary. he was actually strongest in his opinion about Edwards who he does not like at all and said some very bad things about. this was before the affair also.
towards the end of the GE campaign he was critical of McCain for how ugly things were getting.
but i don't see which position he would want or be offered .

5. Russ Also Will Move Up In Senority |
|
It's hard to believe he's been in the Senate for 16 years...and with Biden getting kicked upstairs, Russ moves up in Judiciary (I'd love to see him work up to chairman someday) and I see him as a strong ally of Sen. Leahey in going after the past corruption.
Many are critical of Obama bringing in former Clinton hands into the White House, but he's going with those who know the turf...and Russ' turf always has and will be the Senate.
Cheers...

6. Russ is going to be one of the ones that intends |
|
to re-establish the rule of law. It's going to be interesting to see if there will be fissures in the new Democratic party government.

7. Come on. Some people were talking about skipping him as SFRC chair in case Kerry got SoS. |
|
Somehow, I doubt he will be invited. Too lefty. Too bad though. He sure would be a great AG.
