Two were 'pro' Hillary:

Yes! She's perfect for the job!
No! I want her to get a senior post, but not this one.


One was 'anti' Hillary:

No! I don't want her in the cabinet at all.


And one was neutral/'pro' the President Elect (if that's how it could be described):

I trust Obama's judgement - so whatever he decides is good with me.

Any poll about any Clinton on this board will always be skewered against her. The Clintons have very few supporters on these LW blogs. Which is fine, since most people are actually moderate.

So, continue hating, neither Hillary nor Bill are going anywhere.

Personally, I don't want her to be in a position where she's serving at the pleasure of the president. I rather she be independent, but if she chooses to accept the SOS job, we should be so lucky to have her represent the nation.

So, I'm ruling out Clinton, Kerry AND Richardson (although my heart aches to rule out Richardson).

I want someone who is not a Washington Insider, but will still do an amazing job. None of the three people listed above would fit my qualifications.

As for where Hillary should be, having her in the Cabinet actually makes no sense to me. I cannot see her subordinate to Obama. I'm surprised that so many others can.

I disagree with her foreign policy ideas. Also, it's the chief diplomatic position of the United States Government and as such I feel that it should go to a person with better diplomatic skills. I like Hillary but she's never stuck me as being skillful in this area. Bill Clinton OTOH...

Where I'd like to see Hillary is:

*In the US Senate.

*Heading a Presidential commission for Single-Payer Healthcare during breaks in the Senate calendar. She's passionate about it and it's going to take someone with a real knowledge and passion of that cause to lead such an effort. Fixing healthcare is the key to fixing the economy and it's a much-higher profile and powerful role than even the cabinet IMO. If she wants to run for the Presidency again at some point in the future, what better credential could one ask for than having been the point-woman on the largest governmental initiative since we went to the Moon?

28. I trusted Obama enough

that I exercised my most precious right as a citizen, and voted for him. I am not about to stop trusting him now even before he has a chance to make his choices known.

Some Obama voters my be deflated a bit by some of his choices, thinking they were voting for a wide eyed progressive. Not me. Based on his writings, and speeches, I thought all along he would be a president more like a JFK-FDR blend, with a good dose of Lincoln. Smart, steady, capable, calm, and able to bring coalitions together to actualize his decisions. Just what I think we need at this precarious time.
