The Faces of an Administration |
|
Edited on Sat Nov-15-08 11:18 PM by kennetha
Of course, the President is the main face of any administration. But the President doesn't work alone. He/she leads a massive undertaking that is sprawling in scope and complexity. So of necessity, any administration has many faces.
In no particular order, the high profile faces of any administration besides the President typially are: The Vice President, The Secretary of Defense, the Attorney General, the Secretary of State, Secretary of the Treasury, the Chief of Staff, the National Security Advisor, the "Special Counsel" to the president -- the guy who is his political right hand man.
I've probably missed a couple. But in any administration, it's these people who are often the chief newsmakers (after the president, of course.)
I think one reason that some people are so resistant to Clinton as Secretary of State is because the SOS is often one of the most high profile people in the administration and often is called upon to speak on behalf of the president both around the world and in front of American television audiences.
The idea that Hillary Clinton would be one of the leading faces of the Obama administration just seems to gall some who remain bitter to the end.

You already have a thread going about what you want for Hillary in the next 8 yrs. Why do you keep bringing this up? Obama will choose his administration based on who he thinks the most qualified individual is and who he can work with. Bringing up Hillary over and over again isn't going to advance her career. It's great that you're a supporter but what good are all these posts doing?

I was just scrolling through the post looking for the name Hillary Clinton and sure enough, there it was. THIS thread didn't mention her in the subject but I knew it would end up being about her.

a great admirer of Sen. Clinton, my appreciation for the wisdom, open-mindedness of President-Elect Obama grows with each passing day.
When he said early in his campaign that he wanted to change the national "mindset" that led to many of the insane decisions of the * admin, this must be what he was talking about........* letting his personal feelings about someone or their religious beliefs or party affiliation get in the way of picking the right person for the whichever job.
