O.k. Where's the Bin Laden Tape?

Why didn't America's most fearsome adversary send us a complimentary video package during this election? I believe that ABC News had reported that a tape might be forthcoming shortly before or after the election. There was so much speculation here and elsewhere that he'd make another surprise appearance and ruin another Democrat's chance of getting elected as President.

What gives- seeing as how it worked out well for Bush in 2004? Has he just lost interest in us and our electoral system? Is he dead now? Was the CIA too busy doing other things to put together a video package to help McCain/Palin?

There was something about Al Qaeda or bin Laden endorsing McCain but I didn't pay attention to that.

Or bin Laden is dead and the freezer broke down before they could bring him out as newly killed by the heroic Bush admin?

I'm starting to think that the 2004 tape was probably a convenient hoax timed to prime people's fears about terrorism (which is what Bush/Cheney were essentially running on) right before that election. Of course, Bush's CIA can "translate" the tape for the dutiful "corporate media" and have them tell us what Bin Laden "said" without anybody else knowing any better.
