Why I'm glad THAT MAN will soon be leaving OUR HOUSE.
Forgive me this indugence......

The following shows a photograph of Bush, spending time in the Treaty Room, an office space in the second floor residence of the White House. Looks harmless enough right?

Well, as you can see, BUBBA is reared back with his DIRTY SHOES up on the table, as if he were the owner of the local used car dealership offering a deal on a used Pontiac to some poor soul in his cheaply-fitted office. So what? It's a table?

No.

That table is the Treaty Table, first used by US Grant and was the table that the peace treaty ending the Spanish-American war was signed on. Here is an illustration of President Hayes and his cabinet seated around it....

I'm sorry if I'm a furniture snob. But I have MA in historic preservation. I've cleaned furniture of much-less importance with gloves and a q-tip. That photo enrages me like you would not imagine. That table could just as easily be on display at the Smithsonian, much less still serving the current President. And yet there he sits with his filthy shoes propped up on it!

So when I saw an article this weak of President Obama saying one of the first changes he would make to the White House would be to take the plasma screen out of the Lincoln bedroom...
http://blogs.independent.co.uk/the_campaign_trailers/2008/07/obama-take-the.html

"You should read when you're in the Lincoln Bedroom! Reread the Gettysburg Address. Don't watch TV."

... I couldn't help but smile. Reassured, yet again, that we have made the right decision.

I hope we learned, and never have another one like him. Ever.

4. In all fairness to President Bush, he did say that
there wouldn't be any history, didn't he? So he apparently sees no reason to treat the table with reverence, history, smishtory. That's George for ya.

6. He has no respect for anything or anybody...His behavior has been
reprehensible from the moment he walked into the White House.

The world will be a happier place once we see that ignorant slug leave the White House.

Part of the joy of the Inauguration of Obama will be the joy of knowing it means that prez shit-for-brains is GONE!!!

7. Inbred parvenu pseud and ignoramus
Born to ill-gotten wealth and power, destined for the dustbin and - if there's any justice - a witness stand. Good fucking riddance, Resident Bush.

Food wrappers, toys and a candy bar? Shoes on a historic table. That bastard is a cretin (with apologies to cretins).

10. Jacqueline Kennedy's 1962 White House tour video
Edited on Sun Nov-16-08 05:32 AM by Waiting For Everyman
I happened to see this tonight. I'm pretty sure the table in the OP is the one seen in the last 10 minutes of the tour. (There are several 10 second commercials in it, but it's the full 57 minutes that was shown on TV originally.)

11. Yes, it probably is.....
.... because the room where they interviewed JFK in at then end of that tour is the Treaty Room.

This is a must-see website for any of my fellow White House history junkies...
http://whitehousemuseum.org/
(see if you can find the picture of Rahm Emanuel)

And CSPAN will be airing a 7 part series about Obamaville .... I mean the White House :) starting Dec. 14th.

18. He's such an uncouth, crude little turd. But I suppose anyone
who cares about history, or preserving history is just an east-coast elitist snob :sarcasm:
I can't wait 'til that arrogant, gauche, incurious, undignified imbecile has vacated the premises. What an embarrassment to our nation.
