The beauty of Obama's campaign being financed by 3 million small donors...

...is that Obama doesn't owe his win to any special interest group.

He is free to do what needs to be done without any concern about "paying back" someone.

His win was widespread, across almost all demographics. His financing came in donations that averaged less than $100 each.

Quid pro quo is not an issue.

And that includes ALL cabinet positions and staffing.

Godspeed President Obama - and ignore the carping of every interest group that is "demanding" a piece of things.

Hire the best man or woman for each job - with no respect to "paying anyone back". NO QUOTAS.

Obama's constituency is the entire fucking country. The only "group" that matters is the group called "the American People".

I'm glad that it appears Obama is thinking along those lines.

1. People who donated $28,500 to the Obama Victory Fund...

...got to have dinner with Obama in Minneapolis in August.

We should pass a law against these "Victory Funds" where candidates raise money for political committees.

2. Is there an authoritative source that breaks down who gave what to the Obama campaign?
Because I've heard, even during the Primaries, that Obama was/IS in the pocket of the corporations, yada yada yada. And it made, of course, ZERO sense at the time because, TALK ABOUT YOUR LONG-SHOT CONTENDER!

3. According to the campaign, there were 3.1 million donors... and the average donation was $86

That's the opposite of "special interest politics".

We *ALL* financed his campaign.... and therefore, he doesn't owe anybody shit.
