Here's Who Obama REALLY Owes...
Edited on Sun Nov-16-08 12:04 PM by demwing
At first, I was going to write something solemn and inspirational about how Obama owes US, not Clinton, not Kerry, etc. Then I decided that I feel snarky, and found this article that really explains it all:

Does Obama Owe His Success to Star Trek?

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/518671/does_obama_owe_his_success_to_star.html

Jack Ryan ran against Barrack Obama in 2004 as the republican candidate for senator. This is a man who was once married to the ravishing Jeri Zimmerman, star as Seven of Nine on Star Trek: Voyager. How and why the Republican managed to let a marriage with this blond goddess fall apart I will never understand. I do know that this divorce led to Jack Ryan's demise in politics.

Jack Ryan was accused of taking the Star Trek sex-symbol to various sex parties in many metropolitan areas. The man supposedly wanted to put on a show and have sexual intercourse in public. Sure, I might like to brag about being able to score with Jeri, but in public seems to be going a little too far. Of course, what people do in the privacy of their own homes or in the privacy of their wife-swapping club, is no business of mine. However, this did become business of the Illinois voter.

Eventually custody records were released to the public from the Ryan divorce, and the exhibitionist behavior of the GOP candidate were a target for every democrat politician. By June 25th, 2004, Jack Ryan withdrew from the race to the Illinois senate. He left Alan Keyes in his place with only eighty-six days to stall Barrack Obama. Of course, Keyes was unable to defeat the man now running for president. I suppose it's difficult to run a campaign when you're the successor to a swinger.

Clearly, Obama owes his Presidency to Star Trek. Picard for SoS? Warf for SoD?

WTF Not?

Who else does Obama owe?

Alan Keyes for Secretary of "I shoulda stopped him while the GOP had a chance, but I'm a overblown bag of highly volatile Gas?"

What's your vote?

11. No, he owes the STAR WARS generation.
Obama = Luke Skywalker.

Star Wars foretold the Obama win in 2008.

Obama is truly the "new hope."

12. So play it out...
Who represents everyone else?

Emperor - Bush?
Darth Vader - McCain?
Hillary = Princess Leia?

Who else?

13. Here's how I see it - we of course have Barack Skywalker.
Han Solo = Joe Biden! Biden IS Han Solo - wisecracking, older, more miles on the meter big-brother type sidekick who watches Barack Skywalker's back.

Princess Leia = Michelle Obama. We'll just have to ignore Return of the Jedi for this one.

Emperor - Ronald Reagan

Darth Vader - Dubya & Cheney - Dubya represents Anakin, while Cheney represents the mask/suit.

R2D2 & C3PO - Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert: the droids were the comic relief narrators of the movies - and that's what Stewart and Colbert were.

18. Oh horseshit, Obama would've wiped the floor with Ryan (pun intended)
Edited on Sun Nov-16-08 09:35 PM by Hippo_Tron
But seriously, it's inconceivable that Ryan would've beaten somebody with Obama's star power and organization in a state that Kerry won by double digits.

20. He owes me something. I voted for him and I donated money.
He owes me some consideration when I make an appeal. And, I have appealsed to him to honestly consider the merrits of John Kerry for Secretary of State.
