three times I cried during the Obama interview. Not because of what he said
but just looking at Obama and still not believing that we will finally have a vigorous and intelligent young couple in the White House. A President and his family that are not much removed from you and I. It is truly like a dream.

5. Yep - kept looking at that - these two really like each other.
Or maybe they were treying to hide those long arms they have in the top of screen picture?

That better expresses what I meant. Plus
I kept looking at Obama and for the first time realized he is really a black man in America doing something I never in my wildest dream thought would happen. He is black and will be president. For real.

8. Ever since election night
when I hear him speak, I cry with relief. Just simple relief. The national nightmare is, at long last, over. An intelligent, thoughtful, reasonable and rational president. Calm. Funny. Insightful. Smart. I will no longer cringe in embarrassment and outrage, or turn off the tube when our president is talking to us.

What amazes me the most is that no matter what he is talking about, he seems to articulate what I am thinking on a subject. He takes everything into consideration. From their decisions on their puppy to the questions of the bailout to where our focus overseas needs to be. Everything is analyzed carefully.

I feel real hope after I hear him, knowing that he will be "the decider."

10. My wife and I both had leaky eyes when the discussion turned to
Mrs. Robinson, Michelle's mom.

We sat and talked about remembering separate water fountains, bathrooms, schools, areas for seating in theaters and busses - marches, sit-ins, abuses, forced integration (we were stationed in Memphis during some of this.) We are both in our 60's and white, but we were 'watchers' for all of this. I never even talked to a black teenager until I went to basic training in 1960.

Mrs Robinson, on the other hand, lived it. What must she be feeling. And then the tears came.

What an incredible man. How can we be so lucky as to have him as our President? It is still just hard to believe. No words...

12. Yep, every now and then I'll remember he's the President Elect
and I feel like I have to pinch myself. Like, is this really REAL? Did this really happen? AND IT DID!!!!! When it hits me, I always feel like dancing and shouting.

13. I cried for both.. what he said and the reality of it just NOW hitting me. I have a President whom
I can understand. One who explains things to me and then I understand them. I'm so used to listening and just laughing when "W" speaks - tonight, man oh man, I understood things about the auto industry, the bailout, how we're different from 1932, how he intends to turn things around, how he'll pick those who surround him.. I listened and I understood.. and then I cried over the absolute reality that I can sleep at night; I can stop worrying about the world my children and grandchildren inherit; and I can smile again. Finally.

God, I love that man and his family.

15. I still can't believe Obama did it! It's like I'm living in a dream.
I haven't cried yet either. I probably won't cry til Inauguration Day!

But for the first time in 8 years, I feel that this country and all our best hopes are in good hands.

16. I tear up every time I see Obama. A long awaited fantasy has come true.
A President who can think on his feet and speak intelligently, and that's down to earth, warm and genuine is what I've longed for for eight
years He and Michelle are going to bring back dignity to our Whitehouse and country and the entire family is going to sprinkle fairy dust all over DC.
